Backordered forever: 18201490023 - Clamp top left up to 01/2004

New Country in Hartford has 18 of these things on backorder. What's the deal? Anyone else waiting while their exhaust is banging and nearly dragging? Anyone have another source?

Stock exhaust is a huge disappointment.

I had the same problem.

I even called Mini USA about this and they said sorry there is nothing that they can do.

My local parts guy mentioned that if I could find the other side which is part number 18201490022 then I could just put it in backwards.

Luckily I found the ....22 part on ebay and was able to do it like this.

Or conversely if your existing upper right clamp is in good shape, then do the one ball mod and reuse it on the left side.

Cheers
David

I agree with Ozzie. The one ball mod and reusing the one good clamp you still have seems like the best option. Saves weight and will add a little sound too.

Not sure what anyone would be complaining about...this is fixing up to be the best excuse yet for
the wife on why you had to go buy an expensive aftermarket exhaust. In fact I may use this opportunity myself lol

LOL. No doubt.

I'd go that route if I didn't have a very lightly used stock system waiting to replace my extremely rotten original system. I'm trying to take a pretty firm stance against modding. I've BTDT in my old urS6 and again the current superdupercharged Miata. I save my money for track tires for the spec Miata. ;-)

I bought some stainless braided cable from Home Depot and wired my exhaust up. I've not had issues with that and didn't have to pay the over inflated cost for the factory hanger. It's been on there for about 3 years now.

Oh, the steel surround for the muffler is rusted away too. The last time I was at the dealer they made comment about it but there is no exhaust leak so why change it?
