I cannot look at my car right now so I am not exactly sure what bracket holds that connector. Is it #4 in picture?

Here is a link to RealOEM that has diagrams and part numbers:
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...34&hg=17&fg=05

I suggest looking in the radiator section of diagrams first but there are many other diagrams available.

I took a look at my car. My best guess is that it is item 4 (P/N 17517565396 $22.73) in the diagram but the diagram shows two and my car only has one. The bracket that holds the connector bolts on at the same loaction as bracket #3 (intercooler mount), on the front driver's side.

I agree that #4 is not the connector bracket you are looking for. I think #4 is the rear bracket for the intercooler.

I looked around more in the diagrams but did not find anything yet. Do you know what the connector/line it for? It looks like a vacuum line but I cannot see where it goes.

I removed the bracket to take a picture. The hole is where it bolts to the front intercooler bracket location. The "U" shaped slot is where the connector slides into the bracket. The bracket is bent at about a 75 degree angle. I see two sets of numbers on the bracket:
12517 542 758-02
14 77 95-10
The numbers do not look like normal BWM numbers but maybe they will provide a clue.

Found the bracket at Penske using P/N 12517542758.
http://www.penskeparts.com/DiagramsB...17542758%0D%0A
Penske lists it as a bracket so probably the correct part number.
