I generally reuse the stock plug....i did buy a couple extras online of the same oem plug with the rubber washer/rim built in....have never had an issue. If you were to reuse an aftermarket plug, useing a aluminum or maybe a copper crush washer might be a good idea.
Since it is pretty easy to gaul the head on the oem plug, having a spare onhand is is great idea...many folks have put one back on with a less than perfect head, only to have issues removing it later!!

Exactly what Zippy said, in my opinion. I keep a new spare in my toolbox top drawer, but have reused the one that came with my car for the last three changes, and it's fine.

Edit: Both OEM parts.

The oil plug size is M14x1.5. Most auto parts store sell them for less than $5.00. Last year I installed a magnetic plug purchased at Oreilly's for around $5. It does have a plastic washer which I replace at every oil change--which is probably an overkill. Good luck.

Get a Fumoto oil drain plug and you will never have to worry about your plug again. Also a lot cleaner and easier to drain the oil no mess.

To answer the original question, the OEM pan plug does NOT use a copper or aluminum crush washer. The rubber ring on the plug provides the "crush".
