200 K, Very Pleased.
Just turned 200 K on my 2003 Mini Cooper, thought I would detail my experiences:
2003 Coupe (plain) CVT, purchased new 11/2002 from Naperville, Il.
Custom changes: Added Typhoon air intake from Advanced Auto Parts @60K, (stock air cleaner is a bug catcher).
Changed transmission fluid and coolant @100K (after hitting deer and smashing oil cooler and radiator.
Mobil 1 Oil Extended Life and filter every 15K or once a year (driving less now).
Battery about 2005 from NAPA, had to make new battery hold down.
Brake pads, rotors, brake fluid from Autozone about 125K.
New belt, 130K.
Spark plugs and wires twice, currently NGK Irridium plugs and NGK wires.
Power steering fan, 2006, bought shield to keep rocks out.
BBA rebuilt power steering pump last year, 185K.
Early on bought extra set of 15" wheels for dedicated snow tires.
Lots of tires, usually last about 40K, 15".
Oxygen Sensors (bosch) around 130K.
Misc. headlight and other bulbs.
Wiper blades each year.
New leather boot around brake lever, plastic one cracked replaced 4 months ago.
Just filled up, mostly highway, 33.25 MPG.
Overall, best car I have ever owned.
Have a 2007 coupe with 135K, will let you know experiences at 200K.
Thanks. From Southern Iowa.

I want to see 200K outta my Mini. Sounds like you know how to totally take care of your Mini. I have had a Lexus is300 with 180K, a Toyota truck with 160k-still have it. I hope I have the kinda luck with my 2009 Mini.

I need some tips from owners of high mileage r56's Just bought a 2007 mcs with higher than average mileage, although engine was replaced in 2009. Any advice on keeping it running for many years to come?
Check your oil regularly. The timing chain is the biggest culprit of r56's and a lot of failures are due to infrequent oil changes or low oil. Just keep on eye on the oil. I don't think our engines are as bad as people make them out to be.
On a somewhat related note, I did a compression test on my 134,000 mile Cooper yesterday. I did it hot, but did not prop open the throttle plate. I floored the accelerator, but unsure if DBW will actually open throttle pre-run. Anyway, here are my results hot and dry:
Cyl 1: 192 psi
Cyl 2: 195 psi
Cyl 3: 195 psi
Cyl 4: 200 psi
Spec (according to Bentley) calls for a range of 167-247psi, with a maximum deviation of 7psi. If that sounds high, remember that the NA Cooper has a static C/R of 10.5:1 (or thereabouts - more than the S, for sure).
So my individual pressures are within spec. My deviation is 8 psi off from 1 to 4 (a single pound per square inch off). Ever so slightly out of spec. But I'm not going to loose any sleep over that. I think I'm poised to hit 200k in stride.
