We are in Maryland - just south of Baltimore. I don't think that is too long of a drive. What types of things are you looking to mod on your MINI?
Oh, and I'll put my sound system up against yours!!
You won't believe what we fit in a convertible....

York PA, eh? My condolences! Hehe. I moved away a decade ago, but only got as far as Philadelphia. I still find myself sucked back into York county at least twice a year though - there's no escape!
Okay, that and I've got some really good friends & family out there who are worth the two-hours-each-way drive :p
York's not a bad home base kinda town. You're only about an hour or two from Baltimore, Philly, DC, and I'd often driven out to NYC for shows. No shortage of fun little country roads if you drive 15 miles off any main drag, too

I did a semester at York College a few years ago. Definitely some fun roads out there. Watch out for one police officer in particular. Guy gives a ticket for everything!
Definitely join the PhillyMini forum. I just got on there not too long ago. Great collection of members from around the area. I'm about 2 hours outside of York, but if you need any help with the suspension work, let me know! Just installed Megan coilovers not too long ago and loving every second of being low. New head/cam/intake manifold coming at the end of March!

I love the Megans so far. Car sits well and is incredibly easy to adjust. Tight handling. And with 32 different dampening settings, you really cant go wrong with the ride comfort. Only issue I've had so far is the top nut coming loose on the front driver side, just tightened it back down and was good to go. Check ebay out, that's where I found the best price.

If you want, send me a pm and I'll give you the name of the eBay member that I bought my Megan coilovers from. They worked with me on getting the right package and all. They're definitely easy to deal with.
Might hit you up on that, I have to get out of school before I start blowing my pay checks lol
I'm a student myself so I know the feeling. Can't wait to graduate. Thankfully a decent summer job and some strict saving has allowed the modifications to stay alive.
3 months lets goo
Although it's been a while, back when I lived there I had a radar detector - but they only use radar on 83 (the interstate highway to Baltimore, a road you will come to know very well), and there were so many false positives that it wasn't worth it.
Funnily enough, when I got rid of the radar detector, I stopped getting speeding tickets
