How to trun off SES light?

This past saturday, i had a strange issue, which i later found out was a misfire. While accelerating in high gear, or just relatively hard, the engine felt like it would skip a beat or two, then pull untill it happened again. At first i thought it was the clutch slipping (stoopid guy!) but when i had my buddy driving it the issue was getting progressively worse where it would sound like a machine gun i guess (PPDDDDDDD). Anyway as he was driving, about to shift out of first gear, suddenly the SES light came on and the car lost ALL power, as if it were only running on two cylinders.. After i was done panicking, the car stalled, i restarted the engine and it seemed to run fine...

So the next day, i got wires from Autozone (Duralast) and it seemed to run alot better but still felt like it had a slight misfire while pulling. So i got a new coil pack and the SES light is still on... I havent really driven it very long since i had it, but i did reset the ECU and the light is still on.. Any suggestions?

First you need to find the scource of your missfire, then the light will take care of itself. Check the coil pack for corosion, and replace the plugs. If the miss goes away, the light will turn itself off with X amount of startups. (I dint know the exact number of starts) Or you could have the code cleared by the dealer, or sometimes AutoZone will do it.

After you reset the computer it came back on? Or did it stay on even after clearing it with your tool. If you have a generic scanner, it sometimes does not clear it.

BTW- Friends don't let Friends buy DURACRAP. Since you are a NAM member we are all friends. So stop using DURACRAP

Well when I checked the coil pack, it seemed fine.. It was a suggestion to change out the coil pack so that's what I did and the issue went away
