I saw a newspaper article today that mentioned that singer Charlotte Church is turning 18 years old today.

Hello! magazine reports that once she is 18 she has access to her $30 million trust. She isn't planning to raid it and is likely hardly to touch it except for a few things on her birthday wish list.

She has been singing since age 11 and has record sales of over 10 million.

She doesn't drive... yet, but once she does she says "I'd love a sky blue MINI cooper convertible with a rocking sound system".

My teenaged daughter got a laugh when I mentioned this to her.

I would, then I would trick it out, total custome with high class products and good taste, not rice kinda stuff. what the heck, it is a great car, iconic in style, so why not. Everyone can do the bling bling Caddy or Mercedes, why not make a statement.

cheers

Hell Yeah, I'd still buy a MINI. It would still be red/white, except that I'd have best body shop I could find apply the smoothest, deepest coat of metallic red paint you've ever seen, and I'd have the Union Jack painted on instead of decaled on. The list of other mods would be endless, content in the knowledge that, if the warranty was invalidated, I could just buy another MINI...lol

$30,000,000. That has a nice ring to it. There is room in that budget for all sorts of nice MINI things.
Let's begin with a reponsible and responsive stand alone SoCal MINI dealer. One that is customer oriented, no premiums, 10 week maximum wait from date of order, plenty of windshields, and strongly community oriented. Next door would be John Cooper Works Garage, California; and next door to the Garage an All Things Mini store offering stuff for the daily driver to the race machines.
That would make me smile all day every day.

I would absolutely still buy a mini, more than one even- one would be repainted a classic non-metallic orange, along with several other different kinds of cars. I've always wanted a pristine classic bug-eyed sprite but never had the space or the money. if I had that kind of money, I'd need a very large garage!

I would buy one as part of my fleet. However with my luck, the car would spend more time in the shop than on the road. Going on 40 days in the shop for the CVT.

In my mind, there is absolutely nothing that compares with a Mini.

I just had this discussion with my wife, when we were dreaming/drooling over the recent 230,000,000 lotto in Virginia (and many other states).

I can't think of anything else on the market right now i'd drive besides my Mini. I'd probably pick up a convertible when they come out, and i'd have a ton of fun with the aftermarket on them both. The only thing that's coming out that would be tempting is the SVT Ford Lightning in 2006.

-1 Ford GT

I was asked this question as well from family and friends. And I must say that I would buy a few of them. Both the new gen of MINIs and the old gen Minis. Some I'd have highly modded, a la Qvick Motors M3 MCS style, and some more for show, and others as daily drivers. I can't get enough of my MCS. It's way to fun of a car to drive. I'd of course have a hanger full of exotics and such as well. But I'd never give up the MINI experience. But I'd never have a driver hired to drive me around. That kinda takes away from the whole driving experience. Just my $0.02

Cheers,

Of Course Not!!!

I'd be in my Aston Martin Vanquish, remembering the use of a few MINIs in the heist, that enabled me to get my dream machine. It would be too risky to be seen in a MINI, ever again. C'est la vie!

Turn in your moderator badge... If money could seduce away from MINI, you're not a real devotee

Well,
I certainly got (2) responses that run the gamit of ...opinion
From a polite request ... to a demand of resignation....rofl

I have a luv/hate relationship with my MCS.
I have a 2002.... with it's share of issues and it's share of ... wonderful experiences
I think it to be a great CAR.... & yes I beleive it to be a automobile...contrary to some who feel it to be more than that
I truly respect all opinions regarding... "what a MINI is personally to them "
That's why I'm here...
We are a community with differences and similarities ... and all have THIS place to listen, learn, contribute and grow
It is ..what it is.. to each of us.... personally !!!!
If I had access to 30 million dollars.....I would build a stable of cars.
A new AC Cobra, a new 1967 Austin Healey 3000, A new TVR, a new 1963 Split Coupe Vette... a new 1967 GTO... to name a few
There would probably be a car that "looked" like a MINI...but I promise it would be ...only that. I would have it built to an ..... excessive standard ...and it would be one of a kind... in regards to performance, build quality and looks .

That is my ...personal opinion

Peace,
D
