My wife said there was a commercial on TV this morning (on ABC) with a MINI in it. The ad was for a local orthodontic group. It showed a family with several kids coming out of a MINI. Then they say that "with the money we saved (with the local orthodontist) we can now buy a bigger car!" And it then shows them in a Hummer!
My wife was really pissed. "They don't understand", she said. :???:

 

They should do a Viagra commercial where a happy guy in a MINI says "since I talked to my doctor about Viagra I don't have to drive that around anymore" pointing to his old Hummer.

 

Ugh. ya i like that second idea much better. :smile:

 

Saw a IB MCS in a commercial last night. It was for some new AT & T cell phone.

 

I saw that ad (or one similar) also. The hummer was extremely stretched. I'm in St. Louis although I don't recall which network.

When people give me a hard time about the Mini not being 'manly' I rebut that the guys who drive Ferrari's, Lambo's, Corvette's, etc. have compensation issues to make up for a sub-par unit.

 

I saw an IB/W MINI in a go-phone ad last night. It's a "choice" ad where the guy looks at his car and a bunch of options flash through, with the MINI being the car he drives off in. Fast shot, but cool.

I think the V-6 in the Castrol ad is a projection of some ad execs desire that the MINI have a bigger engine.

 

The old Detroit mentality (hey I'm originally from there so I'm not bashin' the Motor City) can be so annoying. "You need a big car to be a man." Yuck -- I'm probably more man than most of those huge SUV idiots....and I know I'm more woman than they'll ever get!

I love the Viagra commercial idea, mini58 -- that craks me up!!

That's awesome. Any producers in the audience wanna take that idea and run with it? With mini58 getting a cut ($$) of course, eh?

I KNEW IT! I pointed that out to my girl, and she looked at me as if I was on crack or something. Said I should really stop getting too involved in my car. That was before I broke up with her. It was starting to be like the Herbie the love Bug situation. She just wasn'twith me when it came to liking my car. Therefore in turn, my car rejected her,.........as did I.

I barely caught that commercial and was hoping to see it again. I thought that was a Mini tach. Cool, now I don't have to sit in front of the tv any longer in hopes of seeing the commercial. :smile:

TORNADO! Awesome boat man! That is one fun package: Mini and tornado. I used to race Hobie 16's in Hawaii ( Kailua, Oahu) and I know: Fast multi-hulls are the Mini's of the boat world!

 

This morning on Regis and Kathy Lee ( I don't watch the show, but my Wife does! ) I saw them race to change a tire using two minis! It was the result of a bet. Kathy Lee won! I love a capable woman!

Yes, it did turn a few heads as I drove through the streets of Long Beach and down the freeways! Not sure what people were more shocked by...the sight of the boat tilted up or the mini pulling it!
