Front Seat Problem

Hello all! I just bought my 02 MCS about a month ago and I have a question about my front seats. When I push down on the latch to get into the back seat only the seat back tilts forward. Isn't the seat supposed to slide forward as well? Any suggestions on how I can fix this problem? Thanks!

If you are talking about the latch on the side of the seat, that one only tilts the seat forward/backward. There is a latch that you lift and pull under the seat to scoot the seat forward.

Oh is it the adjustment on the front of the seat or is it else where? I guess I am use to my other cars where the one thing does it all.

Did they change that in later years? On my 05 the latch on the side (if you are sitting in the seat it is on the left, near the hinge of the seat) flips the seat back forward, and then rolls the seat forward. When you flip the seat back it returns it to the setting you had it in.

Where is the latch you are using? On my car, if you are sitting in the drivers seat, there is a latch on the right side that you use to adjust the angle of the seat while you're sitting in it, one of the left side that releases the seat to get access to the back, and then the 2 down by the floor to adjust the height of the seat, and move it forward or back.

I am talking about the latch on the side to access the back (to the left of the seat when sitting). I thought that it tilted the seat back forward and also caused the seat to slide forward but it doesn't allow my seat to slide forward. I was wondering if there was some way to fix this or something i could do.

Yep, that should be the one that does it. On mine I just push it down to flip the seat back forward and roll the seat forward. Maybe get down and look under the seat, could be something is stuck or not releasing like it should be.

Since I was out on the road I decided to take a picture of it. If you are in the passenger's seat, to the left of you is the tilt latch, and under you is the scoot latch. Hope this makes it clear.

You're correct, but the point of this whole thread is that you shouldn't have to touch the "scoot latch" to get the seat to move to access the back seat. Hitting the lever on the side should flip the seat-back forward as well as slide it forward out of the way.
