Am I the only one that finds it hard to grab the far back seat belt over my left shoulder? Perhaps a seat belt guide attached to the top of the seat would help.

Try using an underhand method; works for me.

Have you driven a 2-door hatch previously? The MINI's seatbelt doesnt seem any harder to reach than my old Integra and Accord hatches. I'm sure there's some sort of aftermarket solution available if you look around.

Awkward sealt belt access

Yes!!! I actually told the salesman yesterday. He called and asked how I liked my new 05 Mini Convertibile. I told him the seat belt was hard to access, the owners manual doesn't fit in the glove box, I miss a center armrest and I'm starting to notice scratches in rear side glass windows and one in the back window which I assume is from the top going up and down. Other than that... I love the car!!!

Seatbelts

The seatbelts in the convertible seem to get twisted very easily. I've had both twist so far, but the driver side untwisted after a month, the passenger side one is still screwed up. Also I agree the seat belts in this car are in odd places. My main issue is the passenger one bangs against the wall if its not completely reset flag against the top of the holder once someone uses it.

under hand method works best. Also position the small buckle plastic guide to a higher setting, that way the buckle doesn't fall all the way to the bottom of the belt extension, thus making it harder to reach.

This is an inherited issue with 2 door cars. I also agree that in the MINI is not as bad as in other 2 door cars.

Have you ever been inside a Mercedes Benz CLK 500? When you sit in the car and put the infrared key in the ignition, a robotic arm "extends" the seat belts to both front driver and passenger and you don't have to stretch and grab the belt/buckle. Pretty neat, but this car costs upwards $60K as well.

I too have issues with the "reach" for the seatbelt. Ditto what others have said, the underhand way works best.
