I accidently dented the plastic mini emblem in the middle of the steering wheel, is there anyway i can take it out?? It would be really easy to pop back in to place, I am affraid of messing with it though and deploying the airbags. Please help if you have instructions on how to do this. Again, I am looking to remove the plastic circle in the middle of the steering wheel.. Thanks.

Also, I was wondering if this is covered under the warranty?

Sorry to break out the news to you, but the center steering wheel hub with the MINI logo in the current 2-spoke wheel can not be replaced as it is embedded into the wheel assembly. You other alternative is to replace the entire steering wheel altogether.

I don't think this is the case with the new 3-spoke steering wheel. Sorry but there is not much you can do there. Don't tamper with the center hub as the airbag resides there.

For more info, do a search on this subject on http://www.MINI2.com

You can certainly try, but this is not a warranty covered item. Sorry.

Nope there is no way. The lid is solderied into the main steering wheel assembly. pretty dumb eh?

Like I said before, don't even try to temper with it because you won't be able to yank it out.

Your other only sugeestion is to drive by the dealership and see if they would cover a brand new steering wheel under warranty. otherwise you will be out of luck.

Can you say Airbag?!!

Do not go messing around with the emblem on the steering wheel, unless you have: 1) a death wish, 2) loads of health insurance or 3) a plastic surgeon in the family. It ain't worth finding out how the system works.
