I posted this in Performance Mods, but many people may not go there so they may miss what awesome performance can be had with a MINI. I guarantee you will enjoy this.

I don’t know if this has been shown before, but if not you’ll be blown away. If you have seen it, it’s still worth a second look.

Thanks for the great info. Only problem not yet in USA. I still believe the Works is the best. The eval done a couple of months ago in EVO ran all the kits out there and rated the Works best overall. But the BBR was the fastest out there followed by the Works. Thanks for the video. Awesome.

KOOOOOLLLLL!! It's nice to see someone really beat the snots out of a MINI. But if you go to BBR's website and see the mods that they are doing...... Well you do the math. Can you say infated Horsepower Ratings???

Cheers,

JD

I’m sure like most product engineers they always try to inflate the design or numbers to impress or sell, but the bottom line is do they deliver.

“Top Gear” is the world’s best car review / performance show and they do their research. The British do know their cars and will call out those who are a sham. If the numbers are inflated some, ok I can live with that. The BBR did track times 5 seconds better than the rest. There must be something there that the others don’t have and not just HP.

Ok Sndwave, without getting into a flamming match lets just do some basic numbers.

John Cooper Works=200bhp
Ported and polished cylinder head
Moderate ECU maping
Different supercharger(Diff, coatings) with smaller pulley
Lower restriction exhaust
New spark plugs

Webb Motorsports 210HP kit (taken directly from his web site)
Alta Intake
Alta Pulley
Webb Motorsports ECU
Milltek catback
Milltek header
Denso IK22 spark plugs
High output coilpack
Kingsbourne plug wires
Webb Motorsports rear boot badge
Webb Motorsports serial numbered valve cover badge

BBR 210HP kit (taken from their web site)
ECU map
Smaller Pulley

You do the math. The only way that they can come up with these numbers is to inflate the driveline loss.

Come on lets be reasonable. How is it that they can get 210HP out of just a pulley and ECU map!

Cheers,

JD

I don't think the BBR numbers are inflated by much if they are. The BBR from EVO was their BBR220, significantly less than their BBR275. At this point, BBR has the most extensive tuning out there. No one else anywhere in the world is selling a 275package that changes this much of the car. It is expensive, but as you keep getting larger more and more will need to be changed to ensure that the car functions correctly.

Now what I would like to see is someone like Randy develop a set of new gears. With a lower first gear and a little better spacing, it will really change the dynamics of the car for the better.
