R50/53 Can't Wait for March 2004 Club
All right people... my Mini is at the VDC and has a scheduled delievery date of th 13th. I Imagine I won't really see it until the 15th -- Monday.
Since my Mini landed in California back on the 2nd I pretty much lost sight of it. It's nice to see it again and better to see a delivery date.
So, will I be the second or will one of you rush passed me?
Cheers,
emerika (growing very tired of all this waiting)

I know how you feel. My estimated delivery date was 2 days ago. And the mini website tracking says it's at the vpc, and ask mini says it's at the port waiting a shipping vessel. So I have no clue what's going on. Blah. It needs to hurry up and get here so I can tell people it's here and then go drive around.

I don't know... I just talked with my MA today, and she said I could be motoring on Saturday, maybe Monday. Fingers crossed, systems working, all pigs fed and ready to fly.
Cheers,
Mike

One year ago I was going through the same emotions as stated on this forum. We ordered our Mini in Feb.'03, tracked it going across the pond, saw that it was in transit, and actually tracked it down by Vin number in a lot at the dealership before our dealer even knew it had arrived. Then came the angonizing wait for another 10 days before it was prepped and ready for pickup.
Unless you go through it, as all of you are doing, it's hard to explain the anticipation and patience waiting to get aquainted with your new love.
But it is worth it the wait!!! We love our BRG/W MINImum and hope you have a positive experience on that final day of delivery and many years of enjoyment thereafter.
Welcome to the world of Mini motoring!!!!

Mine was on the Carmen, and no, it's not in my driveway yet. However, the order tracking website now reads "at your MINI dealer"... so I'm hoping to get a call from my MA today.

Cheers,
Mike

GRRRRR....mine still says at distribution center. And my estimated delivery date keeps getting pushed back. Maybe someone beat it up at the vdc or something. Maybe I should call the dealer and find out what's up...if they even know.
I hadn't posted about this before, but count me in the club, my Mini arrived at the dealer today and is ready for pickup.
Unfortunately, I can't pick it up today, as I want to pick it up when it's light out, and I have a meeting later today.
It's an Electric Blue MCS, with a white roof and bonnet stripes, and basically every factory option except for Nav.
I don't trust the 2wglobal tracking site right now, my VIN still says it's just loaded on vessel... (and the ol.miniusa.com site completely skipped the En Route section).

IT"S HERE. Well my dealer said I can pick up the car tomorrow....but since were expected to get 6-8 inches of snow, plus another snow storm on Friday, I think it would be better to pick it up on the weekend or next monday.

Yep, I got the call... however, I'm going out of town tomorrow and won't be able to pick up the MINI until next Monday.
I'll report back then with pics.
To the rest of you lucky SOBs, have a great week!!
Cheers,
Mike

I picked it up last night...couldn't wait. Had to drive home in the dark in a new car. Did I happen to mention this is my first car with a manual transmission? Haha, well, no problems...it's a VERY easy car to drive. I'm just glad I spent so much time getting through the hard parts (learning how to not stall all the time) on my parents' vehicles.
Of course, the bad part of the story is the RAIN...grrrr...new car just got washed and waxed, now it's gotta get done again soonish. BAH.

>>Ordered my bad boy yesterday, targeting a March 2004 delivery....
>>
>>IB/B MCS
>>JCW Kit
>>Metallic paint
>>Anthracite dash
>>Cold weather pkg.
>>Sport pkg [I had originally planned to go with 16" based on all the input here, but was convinced to go w/ 17" because a) the JCW kit and b) I plan to put non-runflats on in the future and they'll go on the rims]
>>MFSW 3-spoke
>>Harmon Kardon upgrade
>>Auxiliary audio jack [for my iPod -- still no official word on MINI kit]
>>Rear fogs
>>Rubber mats
>>Boot box
>>
>>I'm sure I'll keep dreaming of other things to add and drain my wallet.
>>
Picked it up last Saturday from MINI of Peabody (thanks Keith for your help getting my JCW kit). So far so good, lots of fun. Had a few quibbles which I communicated to the BMW/MINI cust. svc rep.
Biggest adjustment is getting used to a 6-speed, and the JCW torque curve, w/out being able to go over 4500RPM :???:
Pics here hope to add some more soon.

As promised, here are some pictures of my new baby!
I have to say that the wait was worth it. I love this car!
One interesting thing is that in the final days the only thing I began to rethink was that I ordered the 3 spoke MFSW. I saw the controls on the back of the two spoke and sort of wished for the two spoke -- they screwed up and I got the two spoke  after all.

I picked up my Mini on Tuesday as planned, and I'm loving every minute of it, the radio, Xenon lights, handling, performance, showing it off...
I'll post pictures later, but I just wanted to mention that I did get it, and it was worth the wait.
and I've already put almost 100 miles on it, when I only go 3 miles to work, 16 to school each way today, and about 20 from the dealer, the rest was pleasure/having fun.

Congrats guys! I thought i'd be getting mine this week as well, but my dealer called last night with some bad news.
