Almost there!

My MINI arrived at the dealer, but because the Works kit (new hangar part) is on back order, I probably won't see it for a couple of weeks....so I'm still in the "March" club, thought I might sneak into the Feb club.

Patience, patience, patience.....well, it keeps the bank and insurance payments away for a little more, anyway.

emerika,

man, it's hard to keep up with the posts on this forum. i guess you can't "subsribe" to a thread? anyways, that's an interesting analysis on the call-signs.

10 - 14 days... He said it could be as long as that before it arrives at the dealer. I assume it could be earlier. It must depend on how busy they are. --sigh--

I'm crawling the walls.

My MCS was built last week and is scheduled to arrive in NY on March 5th. My dealer is in Annaoplis, MD, so I should make the March club for sure!

Wow! That's great to hear. I think they told me 10-14 days so as not to build up my expectations. Anytime sooner would be awesome. I'll check in with my dealer around the 1st for an update.

I followed the directions here and have found out that there are over 100 other MINI's on board the Carmen with mine on its way to NY. Are any of those MINI owners here?

Some good news for those of you with Mini's on the Carmen... it's reporting it in.

Call sign: S6IW
'Feb-26-2004 12:00'
"48 54' N" and "7 18' W"

You can find it on the map, but it's hard to read.

Those of us with Mini's on the Bujin have never seen a single report. Hang in there, it's coming.

So does anybody else already have any aftermarket parts waiting for their MINI's?

I bought some new wheels/tires back when I first ordered my MCS so I could swap out the stock wheels ASAP. That way I can sell the stock wheels with as few miles as possible.

Also, I may end up getting an exhaust before my MCS arrives if a good deal presents itself!

I bought a couple of things...

Euro Parcel shelf
Whalen Shift Machine
Power steering fan shield
K&N replacement for stock air filter
Front mud flaps

I am about to order S03s to put on the stock 16 v-spokes and I'm thinking about the JCW.

emerika

p.s. I'm working on a program that reports via email each time your ship is spotted. PM me with your email address and call sign if you are interested in being a tester.

An update for those with Mini's on the Bujin (I think this means "The mute one" in Chinese&quot. My MA today, said it should dock tomorrow. He said likely mine will arrive at the dealer on the 12th.

Not soon enough... actually, I am getting used to this waiting.

The power steering fan shield is something I've been looking at as well. You'll enjoy the SO3's - I had them on my WRX and they were the grippiest tires I've ever used.

Thanks for the offer on the ship location! I'd take you up on it, but the Carmen should actually be hitting port in NY today

fueledbymetal,

The last time I looked at the marine data, the Carmen was still in the middle of the Atlantic (my car's on there, too). But now, it's not reporting in... hmmm...

Sometime today, you say?

Cheers,
Mike

Perhaps my math is wrong, but last I looked, The CARMEN reported in Feb-29-2004 18:00. Her reported location was 33 48' N / 29 48' W. That shows her as 2452 miles from NewYork and 1891 miles from Southampton. ie the middle of the Atlantic.

I hope I am wrong.

I may be wrong then - I was basing the Carmen arriving today on the listed WW schedule which I haven't actually checked since the around 2/20/04.

I think I'd like to beta test your tracking report program after all!

Hi, I've been sporadically posting in the CWFA thread, however, it started to look like it might be march. Now it's looking like April again.
Mine's been sitting on the docks in Southampton for a full week now. Three ships have come and gone without it. (one of which, it was booked on) There are about 80 other minis in my booking group that are suffering the same fate, so I know it's not just mine. Not complainin, just ansy.
But just so I may get an idea, how long did your cars typically wait on the docks before being loaded?
Thanks!

(booking number is GBSOU208341A, anyone else with me?)

SynapticFire: I would bet your Mini is on a ship. Here's what happened to me. My Mini arrived at Southampton the day a ship (The Tancred I think) left. I was booked on that ship. At some point I realized my Mini didn't make it. Another ship (The Bujin) arrived and left and it seemed my Mini was still on the docks. About 4 or 5 days into the voyage of the Bujin, the information for my Mini was updated, the booking changed and my Mini was on the Bujin.

I would bet your Mini went on the next ship that left Southampton.

Cool. Just the kind of information I was looking for.
I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Thanks!
