R50/53 Any stock MINI's left?
I still have a stock S, but when I get home this weekend I want to put on the Whalen that's been sitting at home for the past week. When I move back and get a job I want to put a UUC exhaust, alta cold air intake, pulley, etc... but I'll probably just end up with the alta for a while. Stock is still fun though.
I was wondering ..myself
It seems that there are stages that people go thru re: mods.
1st>...There are those mods that keep the warantee intact. The list is pretty extensive but it includes the likes of: exhausts, air-intakes, lowering springs, tries & rims, rear sway bars.....etc.
2nd>...now we say...goodbye to our warantee concerns. The leader of this list is the ceratinly the "pulley", ECU re-maps....etc.
There are many items to add to these lists...
Come on ladies and gents........ let's hear your voices
Peace,
D

>>Hey I was just wondering if there were any stock MINI's left anymore. Mine is a 2002 MCS, and is still stock, but in December it will no longer be
I got a chuckle out of your post. Several years after the Datsun 240Z hit the US , no-one could remember what the stock wheels looked like! Seemed like everyone was slapping aftermarket mags on them. Looks like there will be relatively few un-modded MCS's out there. Guess it's the nature of the beast..

I took my MCS to the track to the other day, and after that, I was done with the stuck mode. I wanted to get it sooped up for a long time, but never got around to it, but since Randy is coming to town, time to get my Pulley and alta intake, I wish he was doing exausts too, but o well.
Do tinted windows make if no longer stock? Of course it's "only" a Cooper so I guess there's not the same expectation to mod. I am getting a sunroof flag and a chrome license plate holder for Christmas. As far as engine mods, don't have um, don't need um. I'm hanging on to my warranty, (or is it warrantee?), for as long as possible.

I've been driving my stock 03 MCS for about a year now. Living in Colorado I get to drive on many mountain roads. The car is not the fastest on urban streets from stop light to stop light, but take it to the canyon roads and drive it hard, and I mean for more than a couple of hundred yards. I myself haven't reached the skill level needed to handle what the car is capable of. Stock is fine for me. Warranty is intact. Resale value is there. And, I'm getting the thrill of knowing that one set of S curves a little better each time.
SuperMini03,
I live west of Loveland on 34 at the mouth of the Big Thompson Canyon. Awsome driving in the narrows but its snowing tonight and Mini is packed away until they sweep up the sand and gravel. Mini don't do sand and gravel. Love FL.. Go to Sanibel for Snook fishing every May.

Depends what you consider stock. Mine is pretty close I guess. I only added an Infiniy bass link and clear turn signals. I would like to make some changes but I can't justify spending the money on a leased car.
Stock?
MMMMMMM... The only thing I have done is a K & N filter and Kumho MX tires for this years autocross season, 1st in street tire class in the Reno region. I guess I'm getting old because I don't feel the need for any other mods. (If wheels and tires for next season don't count and these will only see the track.) The car has plenty of power for the street and handles great. The only thing I think the car needs is a limit slip differential. Oh, one other thing, I even like the stock wheels, go figure.
Enjoy
