I pick up my MINI this evening and there was a cupholder bolted to the downtube. I personally didn't care for it so now it's sitting on the tool box. It has a mount that pivots left and right. In the left hand position it is very close to the shifter, to the right it gets into the passengers leg room. Fit and finish was nice but it really doesn't fit in with the interior design. Anyhow it's out of here.

Mine holds a 12 oz Pepsi just fine. I'm old and still like the cans. Hate the plastic bottles. (I remember the 12 oz being $.05 if that gives you any idea)

I like the 12 oz cans- the best beer is in a can anyway. I'm holding on to the other cupholder in case I get an iPod which will mount in it. I may lower it so it will swing under the glovebox.

Mini had the add on, (MINIFINI), cup holder also. I found that I can position it so that it doesn't interfere with the gearshift or the passengers legroom. I like it.

Is it sort of ugly? Yes. Is it very functional? Yes. I decided to keep mine. It holds my morning coffee cup perfectly.

Just picked up MC a few weeks ago. The cup holder is bulky and ugly but I use it for my ipod. For the practicality of it, I kept it. I hope they do a redesign in the future so that this add on is not needed.

I barely remember mine coming with one - I had ripped it off BEFORE I left the dealership!

They have... you'll see a change in the near future.
