Is the November Clubhouse locked and bolted? Have we burned the sucker down? She was a good ol' home when we needed her, but it's now December.

Are there any November Club members still lurking, or have you transferred to the December Club to wait out your final days? The problem with that is, of course, the December folk are either still in production, at the factory, or on a boat. You lucky almost-owners are only minutes away. Be careful - the December Clubbers may try and bamboozle you into signing over your pink slips for a little Xmas Cheer.

Be patient. It's really still November for a few of you.

I know Alfie is at the VPC in Oxnard, and I'm really hoping to see him next w/e-- if I'm extremely lucky!

But the December folk have been very welcoming and I don't sense any ulterior motives...

It has been a fine club, that's for sure!

Just got back from vacation...called Ask Mini to find out about my MINI last Friday and it was STILL at the VPC!! Said the repair workorder wasn't completed and they hoped to release it on 12/5!! AAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I guess I should just mosey my sad self over to the December club! Well, congrats to all who got their MINIs this month and HAPPY MOTORING!! My day will come...

Hi Cuny....how long has yours been at the VPC? Mine has been there since 11/12!!! It was built on 10/17.

 

Just called MINI and they say it is arrived at the dealer on Saturday. My salesperson says it hasn't shown up. I can't believe that my car is not there, I believe the dealership is being lazy.

 

The truck just showed up at the dealer. I can pick up tomorrow. Yippee only 4 days in the december club

 

I just barely made it. Picked up my car on Friday the 29th and haven't stopped smiling since. 300 miles to the dealer each way, but I didn't care on the return trip. This car is a blast!!!! My wife and I are already "fighting" over who gets to drive it. I must have gone on about a dozen "errands" over the weekend, just to have an excuse for driving it.

 

What a happy little Club. As we close the door forever (well, we'll leave it open a crack for our few stragglers) I can only say that I've enjoyed your company and support.

Great luck to the Clubs that follow. The Decemberites are well on their way, and January has held its inaugral meeting. There's even a March Club mucking about. I imagine February will show up soon.

Well, my car won't be arriving at the dealer until this Sat, the 7th! That means I won't get it until Monday or Tuesday of next week!! It was pushed back from the original expected arrival of 10/25! JUST KILL ME NOW!!!

 

I'm outta' this stinkin' club!!!!

I placed my deposit with MINI of Nashville on May 31 and ended up with a Oct 18 build date. I was starting to get worried since my car spent an extra week in Charleston... some sort of hang-up with customs created a backlog (according to the dealer).

The people at the dealership were great yesterday and I ended up with a free oil filter and MINI mug (the one made to fit the cupholder). I tried my best to get 'em to throw in floor mats, but I ended up paying for them.

I left at 4:30 and spent the next 45 minutes in rush hour traffic. This was followed by a 100-mile interstate run at 75-80 MPH (taking care to keep the revs down). I've driven V8 cars for the past 9 years and was surprised by the ability of the MCS to climb hills without downshifting. I ended up sitting in my garage last night for well over an hour trying to figure all the gadgets out. I love the way the xenon headlights flicker then adjust when you turn them on!

Congratulations on your delivery. Aren't those gadgets great? You'll find more as you go - like the little cooler control in the glove box.

And you got a mug. That's special. On another thread somebody got a MINI Snow Globe.

I've only gotten a key ring so far. The mug would be nice. So would the snow globe, or the CD. Or a t-shirt!

Good luck with yours. I'm new on this board and my mini has been in Charleston since 11/16 (Fidelio) and still have no date for delivery. The dealer and askmini say there's no problem, just taking too long. And so we wait...

 

I'm now moved from the November club to the December club with my MCS apparently stuck at the distribution center.

 

I dunno, Yucca - we may not let you go easily!

You're one of our stronger members. What do you think the Decemberites will offer for your affiliation??

Mine was also on the Fidelio. Perhaps our cars partied so much they took a while to sleep it off?

I know the Fidelio was diverted southward due to 50' waves... I was afraid there had been damage to the cars after my delivery was delayed a week. Flik arrived in Nashville around 16:00 on 11/30 and I picked him up on 12/03.

rygold, Two keyrings came with the car (I assume they're what you mentioned). They have a metal fob around 1" in diameter with the MINI logo on one side and the dealer name/phone number engraved on the other. I love the key... have never seen a laser-cut key although I understand they've been popular in Europe for a while.

 

C'mon November Club: Almost 5,000 page views. We can do it. Just keep checking the odd remaining Club posts and we'll have it! The first "Can't Wait" Club hits 5,000. I can see the headlines now.

Maybe mine is seasick..I called askMini today and they said a work order was partially completed, maybe a week or two. Not really acceptable in my eyes. The dealer seems to think it'll come sooner. I dunno. It seems I may be the last one from this ship still in VPC. I guess it'll come soon enough.

 

So when the waiting is over, and the Clubhouse is empty, locked and bolted - what have you got?
