I still honk when I see another MINI or Mini. And if I see one parked I always put a Tampa Bay Area MINIs card on the driver's side window.

I always wave, although it's not often fellow Motorists wave back? Perhaps they're having too much fun to notice the world around them

>>I’ve had my MCS over a year now and I’d wave, I’d stop and talk – hell, I’d clean their windshield. I have seen only 4 MINI’s drive through my area in that time and I know I’m the owner of one for many miles.

Me 2 and I would buy the coffee while I did it.

i give a quick wave if the guy/gal's looking, but most of the time mini owners
seem to be shy and don't want to engage. out of the several mini's ive come
across, ive only had one older guy give me a thumbs up from his red mcs,
and a lady in her red mc give me a wave.

all the other middle aged guys looked like he was pimpin a better car than
mine.

As a new parent of a MINI, I haven't really had a chance to engage in an interaction with other MINI owners. Unbelievably, I only encounter 1 MINI owner in my 3400 miles drive from OH to OR. That was on the highway, where the other car is coming from the other side. Can't really see the person inside. So no waving there.

Since my baby came home, it's been in the garage, getting its upgrades (aero kit, stereo, etc...). I miss driving it.

I have had my CR/W #3 MINI for three weeks and I wave at every MINI and MCS I see. 100% of the guys wave/flash/honk back. Sometimes the guys pull up next to me at a stop light, roll down the window and say some friendly words. I have even spontaneously driven in MINI formation with other guys on the Maryland highways.

When it comes to the lady drivers the percentage drops drmatically... I have had only 25% of the ladies wave and only one has ever talked to me and that's a lady at work who drives a MCS. She saw my MINI show up in the lot and she hunted me down! She now parks near/next to my MINI at work.

All I know is that I LOVE LOVE LOVE my MINI and I will continue to wave/flash/honk when I see another!

I still flash the brights or give a thumbs up. Most folks are usually eating a burger or talking on their cell phones, and they obviously don't reciprocate, but the true drivers do. I was tooling down I-15 yesterday and came up on a nice red MCC and gave the gal the thumbs up. She waved and looked very happy, followed me for a while, then we split.

Even though I am commonly rebuffed in my attempts to salute, I still enjoy getting the occasional wave and smile.

Just my experience, and I hope it's misperception, but I have a hard time getting a return blink or honk from oncoming MINIs here in North Jersey.

Are we too sophisticated or so totally self-absorbed that we don't preceive them coming towards us?

Please just don't tell me we're losing our cult status.

After 3 years of ownership, I still do whatever I can to get another MINIs attention when I see them...flash, wave, honk.... It sucks when they look right at you and don't even acknowledge you...what's up with that???

It's been one year and I still wave when ever possible. I seem to get more waves then snubs, and the snubs are equally distributed across genders.

The worst reaction I got was from a women driver's boyfriend, he gave the old "number one salute" when she wasn't looking!!!

He's probably in a bad mood because she doesn't let him drive it.

1. I wave to every mini i see.
2. sometimes i dont see every mini, cause i'm too busy having fun driving, and/or really into my music. a local club member said he waved at me and i never even saw him. it's rare, but it happens.
3. i flash then wave. if my lights are on, i just move my arm around overdramatically to get someones attention. Just this morning, i passed an IB/W, and he waved at me after he saw me... in the rain! i could BARELY make him out, but i can spot those headlights from a mile away
4. Few women wave. But i also noticed only 1/4 of the conv't owners wave around here. THAT'S upsetting, because i know they're all less than a year old

I don't know if it is as much a MINI thing, as it is a female thing. I am not trying to be sexist, but I also drive a Jeep Wrangler and guys will wait, but women will almost never. As my wife says, "It's just a guy thing"

I honk at them First..and then i wave....
Some people look at me like im a freak or something..or they will wave back just to be polite...
Once, this guy in a mini even turned around to come see if he knew me or anything..i had to explain to him at the light what the reason for the wave was...
I dont care...Its fun!!

I always flash my lights and then wave. It's 50-50 whether I get a response, but that's OK with me. Maybe next time they'll flash/wave back.

So far I have had no negative responses. But when I do, I won't change. I'm stubbornly optimistic.

I'm pretty sure that would just crack me up if it happened to me. I always think the covert finger, hidden from passengers, is pretty funny. Like that scene at the beginning of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, where Chevy Chase is going back and forth with that old pickup truck.

I flash and wave. If I get a response, cool. If I don't get a response, well that's cool too cuz I'm doing it for them, letting them know someone saw them and recognized their cool car.

I wave and smile like this most of the time the other driver ignores me/doesn't see me or whatever. But I can't help it. I love it when I see a MINI.

I usually try to engage some eye contact first, with that said, I haven't received in months. I'm deprived, someone wave to me.

All I know is I'm always wanting to wave but when I don't get one back I just feel like a big goofball. Usually if it's a younger person I'll get one back, then I feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
