I always wave or flash, but I definitly feel foolish when ignored and I hate saying it but I'm mostly ignored by the female gender. On a couple of occasions I've been going the same way in traffic and am joined by other MINIs in a conga line slippin trough traffic buts its never been a girl

I think ya'll should give the other gals some slack, though....maybe they have just gotten their MINIs and are in that happy pink bubble of total astonishment and glee and don't notice other vehicles around them, even if they ARE MINIs!

Cheers!

I do wave and if they do not wave back, I actually do what you described. They have become number 1 in my book and I feel like sharing.

I have the noticed that the ladies tend not to wave back at me. But I've never been able to get the attention of the ladies outside of a MINI, so I'm not surprised it hasn't improved since I started driving one.

I'm a girl and I always wave at MINIs (even when not in the MINI, which gets some strange looks - especially when in the big truck!)

Most all the MINIs I have come across in my motoring have been driven by males. Only two were driven by women in the past year! And both of them almost ingored me (almost...I will NOT be ignored! Maybe it's just the mind-set...they just don't have what we all have!

They are to be pitied, not shuned!

Motor On!

I have had most female MINI drivers wave back at me (...which is totally cool and very sweet), but I don't ever flash my lights because around here its still easily confused with that other motoring signal. You know....the one warning of potential colored flashing lights.

Yeah, waving to women sometimes weirds them out I guess, but they know they are in a Mini and ought to be prepared.

The woman who I crossed a parkinglot in my Mini to tell her of our local club got a chuckle from it, but also did look a little like she was caught off guard.

My girl says it best... "You guys are just crazy."

Wave?? I still SQEAL!!!

A funny thing happened last weekend, though. My partner, her daughter and I took the Toyota Corolla into Portland and parked in a parking garage. On our way out, the ticket line out was 3 cars wide and stopped. Next to us was a nice EB/B MCS. We were checking it out and comparing it to our MINI that was home in the garage. The young guy driving the car looked over, saw us looking at his car and had this look on his face that said, "I see you babes checkin' out my ride." He looked so smug and completely.

I rolled my window down and just said, "We have one too." His face fell.

Why not be friends with everyone? I try to wave at each one so I can feel rejected when I don't get a reply

>>I’ve had my MCS over a year now and I’d wave, I’d stop and talk – hell, I’d clean their windshield. I have seen only 4 MINI’s drive through my area in that time and I know I’m the owner of one for many miles.

I wave all the time.. In Boston, I think it's good to be friendly to your fellow man.. I usually honk and laugh at people who drive Hummers, though... Maybe that's not so nice...

I still get pretty jazzed everytime I see a MINI. I do my fair share of waving when I can. I don't get much waving in return. There seems to be a lot of older woman driving MINI's here in Orlando. I passed a woman in her 60's at a parking lot yesterday. I gave her a big smile and a wave and she looked at me like I was coo-coo.

I'll keep waving.

I Always wave if I see another Mini. If I have a passenger in the car, they can't understand how I can get so exited about seeing another Mini Friend.

Our island isn't very big and we tend to get to know who lives in our area. Waving to a MINI driven by a friend always merits a big wave and one is returned.

I try to wave at all the MINIs I come across but many have tinted windows and I cannot see who is driving. Some are on cell phones and some just ignore everything. I always wave with my window down.

At this point I'd say over half the MINI owners just drive the car and have no interest in cracking a smile.

Maybe I should carry a little flag that says Motor ON and wave that instead of my hand.

Kids wave at me all the time. I always wave back.

MINI's are very few and far-between in my domestic-car-loving area, I've only crossed paths with two in the month and three days I've owned mine. First was a male in a dark silver MCS, he waved, I waved. The second was a yellow MCS, female owner who gave me a huge smile and a thumbs up. (Yes, I was alone in mine and she was alone in hers.)

About a month ago while test-driving a MINI in Cincinnati, a woman in a MINI waved. I don't even remember what color hers was as I was too focused on driving a MINI that I didn't own in a town that I don't know very well. My wife and Motoring Advisor waved for me.

By the way...
My PW/B MC is now officially Awaiting Transport!!!
I am so excited....

I wave, smile and flash ...
Then I promptly return to being self centered, and obnoxious.

Oh well, it's a start, thanks to my Mini

Lady who waves checking in

well, I beep my horn and flash my lights too!
That makes me a waving, beeping, flasher!

In Austin, I've only see 2 other MINIs on the road in the 11 days I've had my MINI. The first one didn't even respond like they saw my flash and wave. The other is a fellow I know so when I saw him coming toward me I flashed him, beeped the horn and waved. I was riding in my air conditioned cocoon so could only wave above my steering wheel!!! He had his windows down and sun roof open so he gave me a big Out The Window full arm wave ! --- Was so cool! To own your car less than a week and have another MINI wave at you makes you feel good!

The funny thing is that there are allot of Other People who wave at me. People walking down the street or driving down the street will wave at me just because I'm there in my MINI. I wave back and it makes everyone seem like neighbors who know each other and wave. This MINI is a people loving car!

I always wave (often through the sun roof) and usually throw in a quick double honk of the horn for good measure. During the day I will flash the lights every once in a while. Three times now I have meet up another Mini on the PA Turnpike and proceeded to follow each other at speeds that the police "would not approve of". All three times we got off at the same exit (Monroeville) and proceed to beep at each other while entering the toll booth. One of those times there was even a 911 in our group who did the same horn salute at the end.

If I pass you and I didn't wave/honk/flash then I didn't see ya!

1 & 1/3 years of waving  & see no reason to stop
even though.....
I've noticed that people in general are certainly not as responsive to a ....friendly beep &/or wave...?????

The "what the heck is that" ...factor..is...diminishing ....here in NY

How quickly ....things change.

Peace,
D
