you know what really bugs me about this is the poeple that you are sitting right next to you can tell that it is a mini just give a wave a smile something but they seem to like try their hardest to not even look over it drives me crazy. I always love to get wave when there is someone else in the car for the first time and they freak out cuase the other person in the car waved it is great

i completely agree. i've tried waving but NOBODY looks over! except one time i came across another jb mcs... his car was exactly like mine except he had rally lights. we waved and that was it. i'm still waiting to cross paths again to this day.

ok so if you drive on the 405 north or south you will realize that there are alot of r56 minis which means no waves because they dont know to wave im guessing but it bothers me that i wave to them and they just pretend like they dont see me

Just because it's an R56 doesn't mean they won't wave! I wave to EVERY mini I see and I have an R56.

I've gotten a lot of nice waves, from R53s and R56s alike! Of course, there will always be the non-wavers, and that's okay too...and I'm sure I've had my share of bad/spaced-out days where I missed a wave or two. But I offer a wave (or a peace sign, depending on my mood ) to every MINI I see, whether they see me or not.

I just got my mini a couple of months ago, and I was new to the whole scene... After about a week my boyfriends pointed out "You gotta wave to everyone else in Minis!" All I did was wonder why and think it was kinda weird... He responded with a "that's what they DO!" Yeah... it sure is.

Having driven around and seen more and more people in Minis around the Twin Cities, I can't help but wave! I love it... people will actually dodge through traffic a bit to catch up to someone else and wave... I'll do it now too!

Whoo hoo!

Well I don't even own one yet and I still wave. I test drove 2 the other day and I got waves from everyone. Its pretty cool, I don't know why people won't wave its a shared bond that all us Mini owners and future Mini owners have!

i still wave or give a thumbs up when i can but the return rate is so low its somewhat discouraging now. if someone waves at me first though, then the fire in me will be alive again!

I still wave although there aren't a lot of mini's in my area. The few that do have them don't wave and seem a little stuck up. I had a woman at the Quiznos make fun of me and call me a mini snob because we do wave. I asked her if she had one, of course the answer was "no." So I said, oh Mini envy has been known to cause rude behavior; the solution is to get one of your own. LOL!

Ooh, I love it.

Then you could follow them to work and slap it on their car when they don't wave.

Oh, and I LOVE to wave. I mostly get WWWW (women who won't wave). Lots of folks do though (women too). Love one of the early posts that says he's from Kentucky and they wave at everyone. My folks live in a small town in TN and they do the same. I feel bad if someone waves on the back roads and I forget to.... Nice habit. Keeps people civil.

I wave and usually get nothing, but there is a woman with a R56 a couple of blocks away, and we wave every time we cross paths. It does the heart good to get some response, although I do not expect too much. It seems that us SoCals are a bit too cool to wave!

I wave anytime I see a cute little mini drive by. In my experience, they wave back here in Sacramento, also in San Francisco, but very few people wave back to me in L.A. Of course, I'll keep trying

We got a nice freeway wave today, cabrio to cabrio, cool blue to sparkling silver. As we passed my daughter enthusiastically waved from the rear seat. i don't think the other driver saw us until we had gone by, but she caught up and returned the wave! Both the 9 year-old and the 36 year-old were quite happy.

I've been waiting for a wave or other signal like classic mini owners do over here but nothing, UNTIL today, the twin of my car was coming the other way towards me and flashed me (not literally) and it made me smile. I gave a wave. Peter

Was pulling of of our neighborhood this morning (which is rather rural) and was passes by a Black MINI Cooper with white stripes going the other direction. It was being driven by a woman and she waved at me, before I had a chance to wave first

Got a good chuckle as I had been follwing this thread for a day or two.
