R50/53 Can anyone explain why my car is "chiming"?
Ran into my first unexplained occurrence after almost 6 mos of owning my Cooper S. It's happened about three times now. After starting the engine (and I note that this has happened when temps are around 30-35 degrees - BRRRR!!) and driving a few blocks, my on-board computer flashes and the car chimes (about 4 times). Then it's all things back to normal. I can't figure it out and even checked my manual and find nothing about what this "warning" could be. Anyone have any idea and has this happened to anyone else? You guys are a wealth of information and so I turn to you.... Thanks for any input! NUMMYTIME
Thanks for your quick replies - you guys are good. I will do a search on the freeze warning as you suggested, No Bull. All I can say is that it's going to be LOOONG bell-ringing winter!
No,No,No!
The chime is telling you that the air temp is real cold, and to hold on tight, because the boost is awesome!
Damn, I love the cold morning drive to work!

So glad I got the heated seats - they heat the tushy up in a flash! NoBull, I believe you are in Florida - why should you know about the freeze warning? For the record, I don't think I could teach you a thing about oranges.
