R50/53 Burnt Out DRL!
Burnt Out DRL!
So my driver's side DRL (daytime running lamp) is burned out.
I will be picking up a replacement bulb on my lunchhour.
Does anyone have any suggesstions or useful links for replacing the bulb -- or is the Manual spot on for instructions on how to replace the bulb?

Safe to say you have xenon's?
if youbdo it is just the halogon high beam being run on lower voltage. I would recomend you do both at the same time. Pretty simple. Just remember not to touch the bulb, or the oils on your hand will greatly reduce the bulbs life. Just push and twist if I remeber right... It can take a couple tries, but I don't remember it as much different as any other car...once you gain access to the bulb.. That should be pretty self explanitory I hope. Good luck!!

Xenon or not DRL are both High Beam on lower output, so replace both high beams cause most likely other light is about to fail too.
To DRL or Not DRL that is the question.........
Paid my dealer to disable DRL's in an effort to conserve energy....
And during the summer evenings I have less bug splatter on my paint.
When they first came out, DRL's were somewhat effective as there were not many cars manufactured with that option and most people then took notice of your car. You stood out.
Now days, when 99% of the vehicles out there have them too there is no way they can be as effective as before and probably tend to blend in with the rest of the motoring environment.....Better to run with the brighter head lights/fogs if the road conditons warrant it.

It's pretty straight forward, but the most important thing is to not touch the bulb with your fingers. ONLY touch the bottom. If you do accidently touch the bulb make sure you wipe it off before turning it on. The oil from your hands can etch the bulb, and or shorten the life of the bulb.
