Look for it in the NAM market-place....many people remove the entire cupholder..should be cheaper than buying a part from the OEM...even if it was available.
thanks for the subject alteration. i'll keep my eyes peeled for piece. i'm gonna swing by one of the dealerships this week to pick up the Aux input so hopefully they'll have the plastic piece as well.
Are you still under warranty? I bought a used 2006 MINI that was still under warranty and the cupholder was broken. To my surprise, when I brought it in for Inspection I I asked if anything could be done about my cupholder and they gave me a brand new one. I realize most Gen. 1 MINIs are out of warranty, but you never know.
I don't think I am. I swung by the closest Mini dealership today, to pick up the auxiliary input and brought up the cup holder and he told me that I would have to buy a new one. Then again, I didn't ask him if I was still under warranty. I guess I'll have to find out.

I'm buying an '06 MCS that still has one year of warranty. If I take it to a Mini dealer for a full inspection, how much they might charge me? Cosmetic stuff I might be able to figure out myself, but in case something mechanical needs replacement then it would be useful to get them to check the car. Autocheck record came out clean, but the paranoia in me started thinking about dropping by the dealer.
