I have a 2004 Cooper S and I need to know how to recompress the rear brake calipers. Thanks for any advice.

uncompress? I use a c-clamp to make clearance for the new break pads. is this what you are talking about? or are you trying to remove your caliper from the worn out rotors, so you can replace the pads?

Use a "crow's foot" brake tool. It's the easiest way.

Essentially you need to rotate and "recompress" at the same time.

Something like this: http://www.denlorstools.com/home/dt1..._kd_41540.html

You need this tool set, harbor Freight has it for $20, a worthwhile investment.....

A "C" clamp to

compress, while at the same time either needle nose pliers or channel locks to ROTATE.
