2002 radiator fan

I cant find a 2002 radiator fan. I cant afford the dealers ridicules price. So far two different online companies have sent me pre 03/2003 fans. Both of them turned out to be post 03/2003 fans with only one plug on the harness. It looks like my fan has a relay mounted on the fan itself and a second plug but the later one has that control relay mounted elsewhere so only three wires and one plug are needed. Is it possible to rewire my 2002 to work like the later version? Is it possible to buy the big green resistor somewhere and just replace mine? As that is really all thats wrong with it.

Hi,

Autopartswarehouse.com carries a replacement fan, but you have to de-pin the connectors and plug the pins from the new fan into the connectors. The one I bought about two years ago ran a little faster and louder than my original fan. Usually its the resistor under that little cover that burns out and causes the fan to fail. By the way, I didn't like the extra noise so I went back to a new OEM fan.
