Help Me With This Study: First Fault

OK, here's the deal. I'd like to see the diversity of faults that occur in the Mini. I'm not interested in how often something happens, just the variety.

So, each post should contain the First Fault that happened with the Mini, but it must be a NEW fault relative to the rest of the posts in the thread. In other words, each post should state a fault that is unique to the thread.

In the end, we should see the actual diversity of what goes wrong with the Mini. NOTE: Please don't include stuff that just wore out like brake pads, rotors, etc. I am looking to find things that fail, not stuff that simply wears out.

I'll go first:

At 31,000 miles my 2006 Mini's thermostat housing was replaced under warranty.

BTW: My Mini now has 42,000 miles with no further issues at all.

And your Minis...

"@ about 40,000 miles my 2003 MINI's rear discs & calipers were replaced under warranty."

"Somewhere around 75,000 & 5 years of ownership, my passengers side cable snapped in the sunroof section of my cabrio top."

"200,000 miles, power steering fan jammed - popped a fuse."

"At about 32,000 miles, faulty 0-2 Sensor replaced under warranty on 2006 JustaCooper."

"2005 S: Wheel speed sensor Thermostat Clutch" MILEAGE??

"HVAC Panel Lights do not dim properly. Can not see HVAC panel lights when instrument lights are dimmed low. 2006 MC"

"Coolant tank leak. 2003 MCS"

"12/08 '03 MCS w/51K--PS pump, fan, PS wiring & main wiring harness replaced through extended warranty and comprehensive insurance"

"Switch for adjusting outside mirrors failed at about 4,000 m iles (either position moved both mirrors at once). Replaced under warranty."

"18k Oil an gasket / 20k Axle nuts / 2005 MCS"

"First Cooper (non-s): 2006 Tranny replaced at 1100. Something to do with a main bearing. Under Warranty"

"about 30k my clutch slave cylinder was replaced under warranty"

"first was at about 20K something: the boot latch needed to be fixed to stop the rattle - under warranty
second, at about 20K something under warranty, and again at about 40K something, was the driver's side window motor stopped working and was replaced also under warranty"

"53k mi, '03 MCS. Passenger side airbag/pretensioner wiring harness broke loose, replaced under warranty by MINI"

"@ 20,464 miles: Rear wiper replaced (the rubber dry rotted)" Kinda sounds like a "wear" issue to me but thanks for contributing!

Three MINIs, just one part failure to date (knocks on wood).

At about 32,000 miles, faulty 0-2 Sensor replaced under warranty on 2006 JustaCooper.

You guys are doing great!

This is going to be a very interesting list once it's done.

Keep 'em coming...and make sure your issue isn't already taken...

All at the same time? What was the approximate mileage for each?

Suggestion: Update the first post of the thread each time somebody posts a fault. Then you only have to look in one spot for a full list.

I'v a long list...

but I'll just put

Windshield Cracked at about 10,000, replaced by CalTrans...

Also, a suggestion, on your first list, but the fault first (maybe in bold), then the mileage and model.

And just an observation, rules for threads on forums are honored by thier breech!
