I posted a couple shots of the rumored "Candy Blue" and "Pure Gold" in the Member MINIs Gallery (pages 54 and 55). The Gold looks like it should be pretty popular on MINI rental cars. I'd have preferred something from the Orange family over either of these. Is a third shade of blue really necessary?

Yikers....I don't know about that Candy Blue....they might have just as well made a Candy Pink to go with it and then they'd have both popular cotton candy colors covered. I would have rather seen an orange as well....there was a pic of an orange Cooper someplace and it looked pretty slick (and I don't even normally enjoy orange cars!).

I agree also. I think the orange would have been a better color choice. The new VW Beetle offers it and it looks pretty good.

I don't care for either Gold or Candy Blue exteriors. The Gold is kinda tacky (Looks better with black roof IMO) and the Candy Blue to cutesy.

Maybe seen in person they are much better looking, so i'll reserve judgement until then.

Remember, the MEMBER MINIs gallery is for MINIs owned by MCO's Members... not generic pics...

the candy blue is intersting, because that is a color that the old (and infinitely cooler than the new) VW Beetles used. I had one myself, and I think it would work on a MINI.

The Candy Blue is also very close to a BMC (British Motor Corporation, the original manufacturer of the Mini) colour from the sixties.

So MG / Austin / Morris etc were available in this colour. Didn't look particularly good on the Mini!! It always looked faded!

ccm5,
Thanks for posting the pics.....

Just wanted to make a note that I will be moving these pics to the "MINI Cooper" Gallery.
As Rocketboy mentioned we want to keep the "Members MINI" Gallery for our Members MINIs.

Again thanks for the pics. If you come across anymore please feel free to email them to me and I'll be glad to post them.

Sorry about the location of the pictures, and thanks for moving them. The next time I post a photo of a MINI in the "members" gallery, it will be of my own! (April '03)!
