I'm looking for the CHrome Rings for my MINI.
Most of the places i have checked are over price the Chrome Rings!!

$99 for 2 speedo rings on the Nav equipt MINI???
This is crazy!! It could be cheaper to hire a craftman in another country and ship it to me(only if i have the correct measurement)!

Where can i find a Reasonable Priced place???

Are there different type of rings?? I mean the different design for the same instrument. i have seen there are different type of Speedo designed Chrome rings!

Sorry,
It is true that the chrome rings are very expensive.
At Rspeed there is a trilogy of the rings discount for three rings- speedo, tach and shifter.
Other sources like GUT in japan have it and there is a sponsor from germany that carries them but all are high priced. Sometimes some sponsors will run a special with discounts on rings so that is a good time to buy.
You can try to do it yourself and find your own source.
Good luck.
I have bought from multiple sources and sponsors and they are about the same in terms of quality. Most are reasonably good. The rings are heavy weight and the chrome job is good.

I agree with minihune on all counts.

I ended up buying my chrome rings from Rspeed, after shopping around the 'net...they seemed to offer top-notch quality product at best price. Good chrome is definitely expensive, but you get what you pay for.

One difference I noticed is that some products use double-sided sticky tape and others use some type of glue. I would recommend products that use the tape, because it is easy to install and remove.

You could take your stock rings to a chrome shop, it might be a lot cheaper. I know someone that did that in their MCS and it looked awesome!

Chrisfb1,

You're late to the party. There was one hell of a sale in July on chrome trim. Maybe Paula still has some left, check at:

http://www.cooperaccessories.com/

The prices were reasonable not heart stopping. Good Luck.

Rspeed (MCO sponsor)had the best prices on the Chrome rings when I initally shopped around. As far as chroming the plastic, you would need to find someone local to apply the various metals to the plastic. I have the rings in some places and two pieces of chromed plastic. Try looking for a shop in your area or do a google search for "chrome plastic".

Cooper Tuning (MCO sponsor) has some other items that Rspeed does not carry.

You are correct there are two types of chrome rings, one is smooth and the other has indentions much like you find on the Audi TT.

Best of luck on your search.

I love the way it looks but it was expensive. I ended up buying it in stages.

That is one of the ***** that Rspeed sells. It is the same size as the factory one, which I like. It does not have the quick release and is not as heavy as the Whalen. It was also only $35 if I remember correctly. The Whalen shift **** is very nice as well and is constructed to last longer than the car which is reflected in the price. I did not like that the Whalen **** was smaller in size and that was the only reason I changed it out. The gentleman who makes the Whalen did say he could do a custom **** with a larger size, but I could not justify the larger price it would cost or the greater weight. The Whalen is quite heavy as it is.

Thanks for the complement.
