Hi Guys,

I searched the other threads about the OEM Alarm and I am a little uncertain about a couple of things still.

In a 2005, I have the low washer fluid light on the WIPER STALK. Does the replacement stalk go onto the LIGHT SWITCH STALK with a red light on that end?

I emailed MorristownMini Parts and they said that the low washer fluid light will now go onto the light stalk and the red light will now go onto the wiper stalk. That makes no sense to me!

Also, is there anywhere else to buy it online apart from them AND how much have people found them for?

Yes, I believe so. I would check with Classic MINI (bmwparts@classicautocampus.com) Tell them you're with NAM and get a 20% discount.

 

I'll second that, the red light goes on the light switch stalk.

 

I just installed the OEM alarm on my sister's '06 MCS. Got the best deal from Classic MINI.

Part number for the kit: 65 73 0 403 439

You'll need to order a new turn signal stalk, as it's not part of the above kit. The new signal stalk will have the red light on the end.

Attached are the instructions for the alarm installation kit. It took me about 30 mins to install all the components, and the dealer charged 30mins to flash the body control module.

Well, my sister was living in Grapevine, Texas at the time (last month), and yes I was on vacation.

She's currently on her way back to Alaska, though. She and her bf landed better jobs up here. The economy seemed really bad in that area of Texas...

 

I am finding that BMW no longer makes this alarm system, P/N 61-31-1-489-485. My local dealer doesn't have it, Pelican Parts doesn't have it, Classic Auto doesn't have...does anyone have any sources for this?
