R50/53 Why are so many people selling their electric blue Minis
I was on ebay motors looking to see what the prices for used minis. I noticed that 3/4 of the cars posted were electric blue. Are there morelectric blues out there then any other color, are people tiring of the color quickly making it easier for them to part with the car.
Since the electric blue was a MCS only color like the dark silver- maybe more were sold at least initially which means more are out there as used and so more are on the used car market. Nothing wrong with the color and it is still popular. The other thing is where are these cars from- a certain area like east coast? or from all over?
Sometimes a dealer will order a bunch of one color more and due to supply and demand everything gets sold so more of one color may be common due to the dealership ordering it. If the cars are preordered then it is due to the buyer's wanting a certain rare color.
I would expect that MCS in pepper white will be a hot seller for at least 8 months+. It is rare and looks good.

I have to say, here in AZ, there are very, very, very few Electric Blue's....and of course that makes me uber happy as I have that gorgeous color.
however, I've only ever seen 2 pepper white's here ever, and I think one was from Cali...even more rare. I agree with minihune that should be a hot color...
haf

I agree on the Pepper White color. I chose it for my MCS for two reasons. One, I have always owned a white colored car, easy to keep clean, does not fade easily, and other drivers see you. Second, I will have a unique colored MCS, at least for a little while!
I met my car's twin the other day -- 2002 EB/W MCS with leatherette interior. It was only about 5 miles from my house, and upon talking to the owner, I discovered that our production dates were only about a week apart!
Unfortunately, her's was in the process of being flat-bedded to the dealer to fix a failed PS pump.

If you see lots Electric Blue MINI’s for sale and they’re 02’s chances are MINI only produced one car with Metallic paint in 02 – Electric Blue. Anyone who wanted a Metallic paint for the car at that time was limited because all other colors were not available. I have one of the last off the production line 02’s so I know. Good thing for me I fell in love with the Electric Blue when I saw it in February 02 when I put my name on the order list.

Redleg13,
Slightly off topic, but is that a Prius in your garage? My GF and I love the prius after we rented one for a week(she could not drive my 5sp MC) The new ones are comming out in Nov, larger, better MPG and a hatchback! I decided to stick with the MCS though, way more fun....
Beautiful Elect Blue Mini!

Good eye! The Prius is my wife's. A 2003. She LOVES it. Great gas mileage, and she has the navigation system, so she cannot get lost. She is now smitten with the 2004, which is bigger and gets even better mileage (60 MPG in town, I think). I am going to hold her off for a while!

My EB will be the rarest of them all when I get it on the 11th. It's all EB, I've only seen one other picture of an all EB MCS. That's it. So when I pick up Andre I'm gonna add "Quite possibly the only all Electric Blue MCS on MCO!" to my sig.
