R50/53 East coast RMW tunes?
Hi Paul,
Comments on the size of injectors has me wondering if I need to upgrade to 440's. Currently running 380's with header/cat/catback, 16% M7 pulley, GRS intercooler, Alta CAI ver 2 etc. Adding RWM cam, Thumper head. Hoping to get a Jan tune - in person if possible, remote if not. Do you think the 380's will be sufficient?

A note about the need for larger injectors...
When Jan tuned my car last year, I had a 15% pulley, Alta Intake and Milltek cat-back exhaust, and the stock injectors. Jan explained that I would have had more power at the top end of the rev range if I had the JCW 380 injectors (or even bigger ones). You could tell my car quite literally "runs out of gas" at 6500 RPMs, but in all honesty, for my daily-driven street car, I was really happy to break the 200HP barrier! I don't track the car, so I'm very rarely revving the engine that high anyway...
My car dyno'd at 201.5 HP/187.7 ft. lbs. with Jan's tuning magic, which I am very happy with, given my basic performance mods...

I wonder if this becomes an issue with older injectors or early injectors... because I've heard a couple other cases like this of OEM injectors running out at high RPMs with similar mods... but in other cases folks seem to have done just fine with the OEMs....
Depends on the car and how it is used. Some cars with just a pulley and cam will make more power with 380's and 440's. Each car if so very different how it reacts to each mod and tune.
Your correct. He may still be here in late April or early May before the GVC-BMWCCA event to do cars at Eksten's. He's working on some BMW stuff also.
If things workout we may have him also in June before or after Grand-Am June 6th at the Glen. His time is limited this year more than ever.

Helix has begun their move. Maybe Jan could be here for a tune in the same time period as the race @ NJMP or a little before the dragon. I'll chat with Eric and see what he thinks.
philly ain't happenin' soon guys
jan will be a couple of miles away in early may for the rolex series at njmsc...but from what my sources tell me the move/dyno is quite unlikely to be done then. which for me is actually a good thing, 'cause i'll be at the dragon! (as will the helix boys). i've just decided to put the "i gotta have a tune now" thing on the back burner....which allows for saving $....which i will promptly spend on more go fast bits....which jan will ultimately tie together

. it is a good sign that the move has begun though
that thunderbolt date is during the dragon....which i believe the helix boys will be attending.
and so we must wait.............................................. ..............
Jan will be in Rochester April 10-11 @ Eksten Autoworks for a dyno tune session.
