I've developed a buzz from the plastic tip that the chrome button comes through. When I rest my hand on it it goes away completely.

1.) Will it break if I try to pry it off? (I'm a scardy cat about such things.)

2.) If I get if off, should I dab some project glue on it and just put it back on?

3.) I know I could wait 'til I get to the dealer, but I'd like to fix it now, any other
suggestions?

Thanks for any help.

God speed.

I have a similar problem but mine only buzzes when I'm at redline. Maybe it's fancy electronic rev limit warning buzzer!

OK, I stopped being lazy and did a search on the brake handle. I'll pry off the little bugger tonight and do my best not to split the plastic. Wish me luck!

God speed.

So... the end ring popped off OK. Didn't crack it or anything. I got it partially off with my fingers, then used a butter knife with a cloth over it to force the other side. I'm driving with it off today and so far the buzz is gone and when I put the ring nearly back on, the buzz starts back up... So far, so good. Tonight I will add some sort of cushioning, then put the end ring back on all the way. I think I'll try plummer tape... not really sticky but cushioning. If it doesn't work, it shouldn't damage anything.
