High Mileage ? That's like 13,000 a year. Considering the fact that the average Driver in the USA racks up 20,000 miles a year, I wouldn't call that high.....
I always stayed clear of motorcycles that did not seem to be ride'n. Things happen, while the body sits idle for an extended period of time......just as it does with mechanical things.
Hmmm, I've had my MINI two years and put 60,000 on it which is extreme but 26,000 is great mileage
They love to go for rides! Do you like your car?
That mileage isn't high for the cost I have over 60k on my '07 after 13 months.
Sounds good to me.
DO IT!

The milage seems to be in about the sweetspot for that year if you ask me. If it all checks out from what you have seen it is a good deal, you might be able to knock a couple hundred off if you really try though.
The price does not seem too unreasonable. I think the most important thing is it has everything you want. After many months of searching, I bought when I finally found one exactly as I would have spec'ed it.
That is nearly identical to my car, except I don't have leather, but do have the h/k upgrade sound system. I've got 23K miles on mine and consider the mileage on yours to be pretty normal.
The way MINIs hold there value $20,900 sounds okay ...but there is room in every price.

In these tough times I bet you can get this car for less than $20,000 with some tough negotiating. Your only problem is that you are working the deal with the trade which complicates matters. If that trade of yours does not have $2900 of actual wholesale value. Is this car at Mini of Peabody?
Also keep in mind that you will have to purchase snow tires and maybe some cheap rims as well. Those all season RF's do not handle the snow and ice very well!!
That's a good price, but like others said, in these hard times, there's room for negotiation, people are not buying cars, not even the MINI. Sales are down everywhere.
So no harm in asking. Get another $1000 off.
Mileage is EXCELLENT. That 2006 with 9K is an anomaly and I would not use that number as a foundation to say 26,000 miles is a "little high." In fact, a 2006 with 9K miles is really low.
IMHO, anything in the twenties for a 2006 is average to low miles [low if it was put in service in 2005.]
That Certified Pre Owned [CPO] or Next has additional value if it gives you an extended full manufacturer warranty. Otherwise, how long is the remaining warranty? Just curious. If it was put in service in 2006, you would still have a long remaining original warranty.
I'd snap the car up, IMHO.

By the way, an ex-GF of mine in Los Angeles just got a 2009 Cooper after spending a time looking for a used MINI and not finding any at a price low enough that could justify buying used. [In other words the used MINIs were priced almost as much as new.]
I told her that MINIs hold their value. Two days ago I sent her an image/screen snapshot of East Bay MINI's prices for the few used MINIs they have for sale.
Granted, these are asking prices that can be negotiated [and this is the normally high priced Bay Area], but as many of you know, they don't take much off MINI advertised or asking prices. Even if one got them to take $1000 off the price, compare these prices with
what you might be paying for that 2006 S with 26,000 miles.
Warning... the below is a pic [aka image file]. It is NOT a link. So don't try to press any buttons or icons. You will be wasting your time. Hmm... on second thought, the below has links to the Site, press every icon to go the the mentioned page. If it does not work, press it again, again and again until the link works.

Okay, you all...I was comparing it to my '06. Thats why I also shared my mileage. I must say, some of you must have pretty long commutes!!! OXYBLUE, thats nuts! Its a good thing, but still nuts!
And yes, I love Minis more than anything. Got mine when I was 17 (iam 18 now), and am buying stuff for it left and right. I just don't have to drive it very far where I live. Avg. 15 miles a day.

We just bought our new '08 MCSC "replacement" in late September. We did not do a trade because we've been down that road before and never made out well. (We are not so good at that... you know it's the ol' number switcharoo). So, we still have our '05 MCSC that we will need to sell. The '05 is CR and the '08 is PW. We wanted another CR but couldn't find one anywhere in the country (well except for the dumb@ss in PA that wouldn't sell to an out of state buyer.
)Anyway, I don't know if you have a Carmax around... but it wouldn't hurt to get a price from them before you try negotiating with the dealership.
GOOD LUCK! And enjoy your new love.
9000 miles on an 06?
i got my 08 in July and i have 11000 on it already
My '05 has almost 54k and my new '08 that I bought September 20 with 6 miles has almost 4500. Of course I bought it and drove all the way from Houston to Sarasota, FL... that was my break-in period (like 1300 miles or so). Most of the mileage has been fun road trips or driving "just because".
The poster said he was 18, so I suspect he did not have enough experience with cars to know that a 2006 model with 26,000 is average, to low [if it was purchased in 2005, making it three years old.]
