Alright, it sounds ridiculous!!!
I have been requested for changing my leather seats since the end of last November 2002 (few weeks after I got my car I found out that the leather is wrinkled on both seats), they made me waiting and waiting again, and now they refuse to change it!!! I can't believe it, I paid $2200 cdn for them and Mini gave me those crappy defective leather seats. I don't know what I can do now, except accept this fact. Any member got this problem and how did u solve it?

any help would be appreciated

When I first went to the dealer to ask about my wrinkled leather they said it was 'normal wear and tear'. Now My leather is wrinkled even more and is starting to crack! I'm going in to the dealer on wednesday to see if they'll replace it.

Hey you guys,

You should call the company that imports the Mini's into the USA/Canada.
They are sort of the bosses over all the Mini dealerships over there,
In Holland if you have a problem that the dealer doesn't solve then you just cal the importer and you
bet it will be solved then.
Hope this helps.

Leather is a natural material whose wear and patina over time actually adds, what is called in the business 'character'. Leather should develop creaces and wear lines. To keep it supple you should coat it ocaisionally with luxol.

I can say this about the Mini leather qualtiy, its not equal to BMW or Mercedes leather that's for sure. In all honesty it doesn't even look like quality leather even when brand new. Make sure to keep using Luxol, its the best stuff.

I think he means Lexol. You should buy leather cleaner from them and the leather conditioner. You can buy it online at some of those car care sites or in an automotive parts store.

Good luck!

Well folks, I can tell you firsthand that all BMW leather is not necessarily better...both of my E46 (current style ) 3 Series models had premature leather wear, and if you do a search on roadfly.com or bimmerfest.com, you'll see how many complaints there are there. My leather in my Mini looks and feels great so far, but of course I've only had it for one month...
