I got the call! My Cooper S is at the dealership! Theoretically, I should have
it for the weekend. So far, Mini of Peabody here in MA has been awesome...
I'll post a full dealer review once I get through delivery...

The wait has been well worth it... Can't wait to MOTOR!

And what kind of mini did you get? Got a name picked out?

Dark Silver/Black Cooper S,sunroof, sport package...

Next thing to do is order up some steel rims and snow tires for the
winter, which will arrive way too soon!

No name yet, I've got to meet her before I can decide...

Will get pics and reviews up ASAP...

Great news. I remember the ten minutes or so of sleep i got the last few days before it arrived. I had no idea that it would follow 'the more, the more'-- the more I drive it, the more I like it-- not a whole lotta things I've found like that (at least that are legal)... Will look forward to hearing about your driving adventures.
Oh, and don't try counting minis to fall to sleep; it doesn't work (least it didn't for me). I even tried sheep, but they were all two toned and had sun roofs. Mescal and orange juice helped-- with a worm chaser.

Great news, Pete! Yeah, don't figure on getting any sleep until MINI is safe at home!

Cheers!

Hey Duckboy,
Congratulations!! It took exactly 5 months and 2 days for me. My MINI just arrived at the dealership in Boston Monday. Hopefully I'll have it by this weekend. I was beginning to think the day would never come!!!

I have just completed by first month of a five month wait. My mini arrives in January. Reading all the messages here helps a lot. I have ordered the same car as you Pete. Since I live in the city with the largest average snowfall in the US, I will need snow tires. Let us know what snow tires you decide to put on yours.

The snow tire decision has already been made... I will be ordering a set
of Nokian Hakkapelittas, even if I have to go down to 15" rims to get 'em.
In my opinion, no better snow tire exists. (I've driven on Blizzaks and a few
other generic models, and they all were not much better than good all-seasons,
which is a horrible compromise all around)

FYI, Nokian also makes the best mountain bike tires around...
