Replace clear plastic lenses on center gauges?

OK, I promise that I spent a lot of time looking for the answer to this prior to posting it.

In any case I purchased my 2005 MCS used, and the 2 center gauges (has chrono pack, so tach/speedo in front of the steering wheel).

In any case, the previous owner must've used something strange to clean the faces, as it looks like there are water marks or the gauges, but there aren't any. I asked the dealer about replacing the lenses and they told me that I would have to replace the whole gauge at some insane price.

It looks like they should be really easy to replace - let me know if anyone has tried this.

I read the post about mcguires clear plastic polish that i plan on trying, but would like to hear other suggestions - thanks for any help.

Well this may sound weird but, I use eagle 1 NANO polish (wheel polish) on my head lights and it romoved yellowing and all other water, bugand tree sap stains. It also made the lenses glimmer like new. It might work on your guages.

If the scratches/spots are fine, Plexo Plastic Glass cleaner should do the trick.

I have been thinking about replacing that two pieces of plastic for anti-glare glass, so I can actually see the gages at all times.. has anyone done that?

Optium anti-glare material is the ticket. I have optium lenses in my speedo and tach now. Need to do one for my Chrono pack.

Yes - if you remove the chrono pack, you can cut a circle of plexi or anti-glare glazing material the right size and substitute it for the plastic "dome".

Dude, they should coat the inside of windshields and windows with this stuff. UV protection and anti-glare.

awesome - thanks for the instructions. how can I get a piece of this optium, or even better, but the two front lenses (don't need it for the chrono center guage cluster.
