Brand New ultraleggera problem
So i got my brand new 17x7 ultraleggeras today. They look great but i have a problem... everything feels fine but the yellow flat tire symbol comes up when i start the car and while I'm driving and does not go away.... i looked in the manual and it says its a malfunction? what should i do? is this normal?
I threw in some pics just because they look so great but i hope people can help with my problem and not drool at the car like i do

The wheels don't have the TPMS (Tire pressure monitoring system) sensors in them. Therefor, the ECU isn't recieving a pressure signal and thinks you have 4 flat tires. If they have it fitted, as stated below, it may have to be reset. If they don't have it, you have to live with the light.
ah well my dad's z06 had the same thing happen to him and claims the symbol will go off after 50 miles because the ECU has a chance to reset itself or something... i don"t no if i believe it though.

I just had some new wheels put on at Discount Tire and after about 6 miles the TMPS went off. I had to reset it with the button under the e-brake. I also did a quick pressure check on all four tires. They were all at the requested psi.
Have you gone back and asked if they could check out the tires for you? Seems they may have banged something.

I'd check the pressures and make sure that they are spot on. Then, follow the procedure for resetting the monitoring system that is printed in the owners manual.
Gnatster: Didn't they add an early version of the TPMS on very late build '06 models... like when they swapped over to the 14mm lugs (june/july '06)?

I've got a 2006 Mini, that has what appears to be some sort of TPMS system, but I guess it is not.
So, how does the early version TPMS work? No sensors in the tires, but all wheel rotation calculation? Or some other way? Thanks for any info.
