will r84s fit my '04 cooper?

Hi-

I'm thinking of trying to get some r84s for my wife's '04 cooper (r50).

does anyone know if they will fit? i assume since the r84s are typically from an '06 s type (r53), it should fit...

thanks!

Any wheel used from 2002-2006 will fit any R50 or R53 (excluding the JCW cars and there's a rumor some late 06 R53's had the new R56/JCW brakes on a non-JCW car). This means 15" Holies will fit an R53 and S-Heavies such will bolt onto a '50.

The only thing to watch is supposedly some very late 06's came with the new R56/old R53 JCW brakes. Anything 2002-2005, you won't have issues. Again, as long as it's not a JCW car.

R 84's on JCW cars, first gen

Just to stop the BS, the R 84's FIT over JCW brake, period. I have a JCW car with JCW Brakes and yes there is 4mm of clearance around the calipers with the r 84 wheel. I use the bloody wheels when I go up to Tahoe in the winter.

Folks....trying to learn more about wheels for our late model 06 mini-cooper S. Can you tell me what the following designations mean (R, R84, R53), as used above.

Thanks.

The "R" code designation is a way of naming the wheels. Following-up on that. I read somewhere that there was a chart with all the MINI Cooper wheels, along with it's R-designation code and a photo. Does anybody know where to access that chart?

Thanks

Thanks MINIAC!

I'll have to print out that until I familiarize myself with the appropriate wheel "R-coding" !
