Need Help!

I'm currently living in Leesburg, VA and have a 2003 R50. Five days ago my transmission started making a whining noise and it has only gotten louder from day to day. I went to a referred shop (Mach V Motorsports) and had my fluid changed but the sound is still there. I think there might be more to this noise. I need to know where a good shop is because I am about to go back to New Mexico where I live and it is an 1800 mile drive. Please help if ya can, thanks

Mach V IS a good shop but transmissions get into more specific stuff than many speed shops deal with. The local dealer is about two miles away. The closest MINI specific shops are Helix in Philly and Grassroots in NC.

The noise get louder as I accelerate and is louder from one gear to the next. It goes away as soon as the clutch is in and comes back as soon as I let the clutch out. There is a loud whine when I accelerate and it is still present when at a cruising speed, of course it is louder the faster I go. At 50 its pretty loud. When I shift down its like I can hear the gear working in its syncronized fashion, it doesn't sound broken but its like I can actually hear it ya know. I just wish I could figure out what the problem is, and if there is a problem I'm sure some one here has had it before

AAMCO in Leesburg - nice guys and free to have them look at it. They're right near Plaza and Market.

Once again, I agree with PGT, head over to the AAMCO and see what they say. If you can go home thru Chicago we could help you here too.
