Hi
I am "in line" at my local dealership to order a 2003 for delivery (supposedly) in December. I have found the EXACT car I want in a 2002 model from a private owner. Price is right. Any changes/improvements anyone knows about to the 2003 that would be worth waiting for?

He has an offer from a dealer so I have to decide TODAY! He is a major car enthusiast and the car is mint. Only 800 miles and garaged.
Thanks for any input.

well if you go for the 2003 in DEC you can get the H/K system, and if you have ever heard the h/k sys in a BMW, it is awsome... Thats what im waiting on. I will put my order in mid to late DEC.

MCS chile red prem pac,H/K system, white roof white rims.(with or with out white bonet strips, what do you think?)

Thanks for your input. I'm looking at chili red, white roof, premium, sport, cold packages. 17 " performance run flats. The used car has bonnet stripes. I'm hoping he can take them off - maybe they will grow on me.

Has anyone removed these stripes? Car has been garaged since purchased in July. I'm hoping there won't be any color change....

Red cars tend to fade a bit... But you should be fine... specially if its garaged. I beileve that it takes a bit of time for them to fade anyway.... worst case keep em or go to a sign shop like a Signarama or what not and have them make you custom bonnets... probably would look cooler anyway =)

So, how bad do you want it? The only 'base' advantages are the extra remote key, and the front input into the radio... other than that, if that's not what you'd wait for, go for it...

and keep the stripes!! I just picked up my chili red MCS, and it looks Soooo sweet w/the stripes...

Believe you've already made your decision, but I'd wait for an 03. The used one probably doesn't have the pre-wired alarm and doesn't have the pre-wiring about the mp3/auxilary radio thingies. Oh, and you get the newer car for the same price, the option of the anthracite or silver interiors...hmmm...can't think of anything else, but I think you should wait  Of course, I've got my 2002 S right now and telling me I'd have to wait another 3 months would kill me

I think you're asking me, so I'll take the opportunity to respond. No, my dealer didn't have the software for it so I have to get that later at a closer dealer. I'll try to get it done when I get my REMOTE KEY

I see very little difference between the 02 and 03... besides the HK sound system. I would just go for the 02 (biased i guess, since I have the 02).

I think the HK costs an extra $550? For that you get upgraded speakers and 2 extra ones. Plus a slightly modified head unit. For this price you could get double if you upgraded the speakers and head unit yourself. That's what I have done... replaced head unit and amp so far... doing speakers in 3 weeks. After that, my sound system should thoroughly destroy the HK upgrade. Pretty sure anyone who upgrades the stereo system themselves will have a better system than the HK... so why bother with it?
