So, on a whim I stopped at Crevier Mini on my lunch break and was able to drive a MINI. I was hooked, until they called me back and told me that I just HAD to drive an S. Of course, I went back and drove it, and it was fantastic! I instantly started reading reviews and many of the posts here. I have caught myself up in your excitement! And, eventhough I think a baby book is a bit much, I will probably start a blog for mine the minute I place the order. Which, brings me to my dilema.

I am going to order this coming week, but I have been told not to expect delivery until Jan. 03? I know that long waits have been fairly common, but I guess I'm just not that sure if I really want a MINI so bad that I will wait 5 months to get it.

Someone, anyone, everyone, tell me it's worth the wait? Anyone....

First of all, Spet - Jan is only 4 months. And yes it's worth it. Also, 4 months for an MCS is a SHORT wait. Go get it!

Trust me 5 minutes after you own it those five months will disappear like a bad dream........... I waited three months and other then buying a coffe cup and hat refused to get excited. HOWEVER,.....I have now been know to drive to the next state to get an 89 cent box of sparklers. Well my wife likes sparklers and it was my day off. I am setting in Memphis right now for no better reason then my mini could get there and I had two days off.

Buy the car you will not look back, well unless you have no desire for adventure, driving for the pure joy of driving, or want to be like everyone else. Us mini owners seem to be a different lot. Motor On!

If you don't what WILL you be driving in January? Short of really NEEDING a car right now I'd wait for the MCS.

As an aside I ordered my MC on 7/25 and I made a doctor's appointment the same day. My MC is set to dock stateside on 9/17, my doctor's appoint. is scheduled for 9/19 I want a MINI, I NEED to go to the doctors.

I KNOW it will be worth it. First of all, all my cars have always been bought off the lot. This is the first car I have ever ordered. I love going to work and having people see my screen savers and wall paper and ask about the car. "That's the car I have on order." That gets people asking about the car. I like to puff my chest out and brag about a car that I don't even own yet!

Order your car. Wait the 4 or 5 months. The time flies actually. We went in and put a deposit down in April. Our car was ordered last week. It should go into production sometime in October and I should have it by Thanksgiving. Hopefully sooner, but I'm shooting for Turkey Day! It was 7 months, now only 10 weeks.

I'm trying not to get too excited about the whole thing but when I talked to the lady at the dealer and she told me the car was ordered, I couldn't help it. I squealed! Like a school girl! Ugh, it was a bit undignified but I am sure the lady at Cinci MINI had heard it before!

Get your check book out and make the deposit.

Many dealerships are quoting 6-9 months or longer! Order up, scour the BBs for MINI info, and join our crazy cult of the MINI!

Cheers & Welcome to MCO!

I waited 5 months for my S - and I love it! I've only had it a week now, but it still makes me smile when I think about driving it to work... Smiling now, yes..

Oh, and then you'll get questions like I did on Friday which make it WORTH the 5 month wait:

"Now that's a cool ride...that's like a $50,000 car isn't it?" WOW!!!! I smiled and said, "actually it starts at about $20,000, but thanks!"

My gf saw the pictures of the interior of the car in one of the brochures I have. I told her that is the car I want and she was like, "Yeah but how much does it cost?" She is giving me the "that thing must cost a fortune look" and I say that it starts at around 19,000 dollars. She looks at me and says, "90,000 dollars you can afford that!!!!" No babe 19,000 dollars not 90,000.

She is severly hearing imparied and sometimes we have these one or two minute communication break downs.

She still can't belive it only costs around 19,000.

I'd still be driving my gutless wonder rat mobile, aka '99 Mitsubishi Mirage :yuk:

Ok, thanx for the input folks. Now I'm sure I'm going to drive everyone I know absolutely crazier than I have been

Watch soon for my mini blog, where I will track, as much as possible, the day to day stuff that happens with MY MINI. (I'm a computer guy, so this make more sense to me than a 'baby' book, but I'll keep a folder for the important stuff
)
