even though i am, like many of you, waiting for a car. i'm dreaming of future drives. drives down twisty, winding, beautiful roads. roads thru the woods, along the river, across the mountains. the thing that worries me though is what other roads are out there. what else am i missing, is there a more perfect road? where else can i go to find that perfect road/drive. i was wondering if you would mind listing where you plan to take, or have taken your MINI drives.

Just yesterday we took ours on the Ortega Highway here in So Ca. Finally got the break-in over with, longest 1250 miles of my life, and decided to see what it could do. One word. FUN! I drove it to San Juan Capistrano and the wifie (last name must be Andretti) drove on the way home (whew, white knuckle city).

Anyway, a good time was had by all.

Oh yea, while we were gone my dad called and our daughter told him "they're out playing in the car" Never thought that would happen.

By "playing" I ment driving. Get your minds out of the gutter.

I am going to Motor quickly to the Tip of the Door Penninsula down a road connecting Gills Rock and Northport Dock. It's one of those roads that have trees between the lanes to preserve the big trees. Here's an option for those looking to Motor even more: Circle Tour You just have to promise to look me up when you pass through Door County!!!

Which roads in Door County are the best? I was planning on getting up there this fall. I know there are some decent roads but I don't know the names.

A while ago, someone posted a link to a road in the Smokey Mntns of NC that looked amazing. Check out http://www.dealsgap.com. The resort hosts tons of rallies for various car clubs. A friend of mine took his Miata up there...said it was the best drive ever. So many twists and turns. Kinda like a roller coaster for your car. Hope this helps.

The very day I took possession of my velvet red/white top Cooper, I and my wife left our little home outside of Akron and drove through Amish country in the center of Ohio for the purpose of staying at a bed & breakfast. It is beautiful forest/farmland that is covered in delighful S-curve two lane roads. I can say with authority that putting 200 miles in one evening through thunderstorms and past horsedrawn buggies cemented my feeling that the Cooper is magnitized to the road! It was an absolute delight and never once felt as if it was loosing traction.

You all will LOVE your babies when they arrive!

Hi nlilly! Welcome to MCO, home of major MINIacs! Your debut drive sounds fantastic! How did the Amish react to MINI?

Cheers!
