really need help from you guys

I am saying goodbye to my Jeep tomorrow morning and need a vehicle to replace it soon. I am dead 100% set on a MINI Cooper S 05' MY and had a couple in mind. I don't really know what to look for, so if you would be kind enough to give me your honest opinions on these two vehicles, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

I like the blue one because it has Zenon headlights and a matching top, and the seller made it clear it needs new tires and will discount the price to 18K because of that.

I like the red one because it has the gauge layout I like, and painted interior. But the price is a little steep I think. Talked them to 22,100 OTD.

I can't load the first link, the Chili Red one is nice, but $4,000 more?
I need to see the first one, I'll try again.

Think I got it;http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...ce=&cardist=23

If this is indeed the one you are talking about, I'd consider it first. I like the aero kit (painted side skirts) and the price. IMHO. That is the aero kit, right guys?

I bought my MCSc for a little more than $20k and only 4,200 miles and they shipped it to my house. It did take me over 6 months to find.

Yeah I like them both, the price on the blue one is better.

Do you know what packages either of them have? That might help explain the price difference, and give us a better idea of the actual worth of the cars.

also, because the blue one needs brakes and tires, the seller is giving me a $1,000 check for that (so I can get financed for enough to do it.) With 1000 bucks can I get decent tires and brake job?

Depends on how much you can do yourself, and how good of tires and brakes you want!

I spent around $400 on tires this winter, and just put a little over $500 into parts for a complete brake overhaul. But that's with no labor on the brakes - they'll be done here at home.

I'm definitely competent to do brakes. Tires, I'm ok with prada spec-2's which I can get for $120 a tire.

BLUE FTW!!!!!

; )

2005 is the year I wanted but i found an 04 so i picked it up.
there really isnt too much to look for in that year i dont think.
i had to replace the door handles. they gave me 2005 door handles. they dont freeze in winter like 2004s i guess.
and i fixed a rattle in the hatch and center console.
thats it! ; ) enjoy

ps i got brembo rotors and ebc green stuff pads on my vw gti for a few hundred and jus installed it all myself. also got new tires for jus a couple hundred. so im sure 1k will be fine for the mini!

Make sure they both have the sun roof. From what I can see in the picture of the blue one, it might not. I can tell you that without a sun roof it will affect your resale price considerably. If it does, it seems like a pretty decent price.

That is one thing I like about the blue one, no sun roof. The mini sunroof is not built properly for AZ heat. If there were a hard cover which would totally block the sun, that would be fine, but the mesh screen sucks.

Hmm, if the Hyper Blue doesn't have a sunroof, then the seller's description is way off because it lists in the specs and the description that he has a sun roof.

You can tint the glass as much as you want to block out the sun, that's not a problem.

I'd get the Hyper Blue because of the aero kit and HK Audio. Is the interior truly leather or leatherette? Does it have a lumbar adjustment **** on the driver and passenger seat--it's on the inside edge of the seat near the lever to recline the seats? If so, it's leather. Does this have LSD? If so, that would be another reason to choose this one.

Interiors can be painted. I painted mine, it's not hard.

okie... I already planned on checking for the LSD. Lumbar ***** I will check thanks for that heads up. Maybe it does have a sunroof, it doesn't look like it in the pics. If so, whatever, I guess I can live with it.

thanks for alllll the help everyone.

Just looked at the blue one. Amazing car. Made an offer and the inspection is on Friday. If it checks out, I'll be the new owner!
