R50/53 That Purple Stuff (Part 2)
That Purple Stuff (Part 2)
Hiya,
I recently posted about Royal Purple oil being available at reduced prices at AutoZone. I'm not sure how many stores are involved, but it seems they are dropping the Royal Purple line.
I found out yesterday that the price has dropped from $5.99 a quart to $3.99.
My '02 MCS seems to run quieter, get a little better mileage, and it may be my imagination (where I spend so much time), but the throttle response seems crisper.
Needless to say, I'm stocking up.
With gas prices going up, maybe I need to re-think selling Emily in favor of that '91 Mercedes Benz 420SEL I've been eyeballing!
Have a great day,
Hegira

I'm don't know what part of the world you're in, but I know AutoZone has a price-match policy. You might ask the dude (dudette?) at the parts counter to contact an AutoZone store in the Boston area. There's a boat-load of 'em.
You have to be careful with price matching. I work at Advance Auto and we won't do it on antifreeze, oil, or R134. But still, 3.99? They very well might be discontinuing it at that price.
