I just ordered my MCS today and got the dark grey cloth with the anthracite. I think the cordoba is ugly and the silver as well.

Get the cloth as I have heard and experienced with leather that it makes your back sweat (does in our yukon) and doesnt hold as well in corners (which it doesnt for me). Oh, and it's free!

I know that others have commented that they don't like the look of the cordoba leather. I guess the appearance of any upholstery is subjective- that's why we have so many choices in leather color for living room sofas.

I like the look of cordoba esp with a British Racing Green or Red MINI- probably best matched with a silver dash rather than the very dark anthracite.

In the UK the seats can be ordered- Leather trim with the center colored portions in cloth or with the center colored leather portions with perforations. They look good.
Not available in the US as far as I know.

I would've maybe almost considered the Cordoba in this upcoming MCS if it came with black doors. I'd get it with Anthracite, so keep the interior to two colors.
However, since it's not available with black doors, I chose Space Cloth again, with Alloy. Love the industrial silver-and-black look.
But, none of this really matters, as it is whatever you like is what's important for your MINI.

Cheers,
Ryan

Too many options, but that's a good thing. That's the problem with having a long wait. BTW I'm looking at Pepper White as the exterior color with a black roof, no a body colored roof or was it a black roof ??

Space cloth and alloy. Good choice. Save some $$$.
I hope your new MCS is a joy. 2004-yeah!

We currently have the High gloss Silver trim and it looks nice but unfortunately the plastic parts that lack lacquer coating (Dashboard downtubes, door pulls) are the ones most prone to scratching just because they have the most wear and tear.

I highly recommend going with the Anthracite trim not only because it looks miles better but also it is much, much, much better at resisting scratching than the Silver trim.

I think that a Cordoba Beige interior with the Anthracite trim looks terrific. Just my opinion.

Don't know if I can help until I have time to take some pics and post them, maybe tomorrow!

Some thoughts:
I have an 03 MCS, EB/W, lapis leather, magnesium door panels, brushed metal dahs and silver trim.

That's many different colors in the interior, but this is not an issue I mind per se.
However, that said, I do not like the silver trim for 2 reasons: I prefere the dark trim that comes with the anthracite dash, and the silver trim does not last long, mine started peeling after about 6 months.
So, I changed my trim by repainting it:
Almost all silver trim is now a dark anthracite: the Y-braces in the door panels, the tach trim ring, the shift trim ring and the cupholder/ashtray trim rings.
The speedo and dash vent trim rings however I painted in exterior electric blue. In addition, I lined the door pockets and in fact the entire area inside of the oval trim rings with a dark grey felt, more color there.
Took a while to get used to it but now I like it.
I definitely prefer dark trim rings over light one.
Had I gotten my car later after having a chance to see anthracite, I would have selected anthracite interior, maybe together with space cloth, not sure.
Will post pics soon!
Cheers,
M.

I've got a PW/B MC with black leather and an anthracite interior , which I chose because I thought that the silver interior looked a little plastic-y for me. (yes, i know it's all plastic, but I preferred the anthracite, ok?). I think it looks great.

I know I'm veering a little here, but I think that the Cordoba is absolutely beautiful, especially with BRG or PW exteriors. I could really go either way on the Anthracite vs. Silver. I'm currently in a Pure Silver/Black, so I obviously kept up the silver theme on the interior. But I think that the Anthracite might look a little classier with the Cordoba....

I think the anthracite is more classy looking than the silver. I have no regrets about getting the anthracite.

But then again I like subtlety rather than contrast, which is why I got a black roof rather than a white one. If you like a flashier look, go with the silver.
