I just got through driving a Mini Cooper S at Mini of Murray in S.L.C. Karen took me out and was really cool, she took me on a nice long route wich included a good 3 mile stretch on the freeway, and have to say what is obvious, IT WAS AWSOME! The handling, the acceloration, the comfy leather sport seats that kept me firmly in place while I rounded a corner at 50 mph., the look of jealousy I got from everyone on the road as I whizzed right by them in a car I don't even own yet. I got myself a part time job so I can get my deposit right away and have my Mini Cooper S as soon as possible. Only now I'm having a colour dilema, you see I want a dark silver w/white top, but test drove a chil red w/white top and I must say looked awefully good. What to do what to do?

Tough decision. The dark silver looks absolutely fab. I love it. But, I opted for the Chili Red for several reasons. First, I think the Chili Red is pretty hot looking on the MINI. Second, I wanted that traditional racing MINI look. Third, it seems that everyone under the sun has gotten the dark silver. So, I decided I wanted to stand out from the other MINI's on the road. Anyway, they are both great colors and your MINI will look smashing no matter which you choose.

Just finished test driving the minis today after reading the posts here and I'm hooked...bought one today.....even more fun than I thought....I drove the regular mini first, then drove the S version, then was a little confused, so I drove them both again, the salesperson was very nice and patient. Even though I could have gotten the S a little quicker based on what they had coming in, I chose the regular mini, just couldn't really feel that much difference in the test drives I took....maybe on the expressway the S had more ummph, but the drives around town I took, I just really didn't feel that much difference and I'm going to be using it just around town....I decided to use the price savings on the moon roof and leather seats....plus is it really true you can't get a spare on the S, that's what the salesman told me which seemed a little strange....anyway can't wait now till it arrives.....silver with black top, the moonroof really looks cool on the black top, like it isn't even there....didn't try the automatic, both the manuals felt terrific...

very cool site here....

My wife and I test drove MCS yesterday also! Dreyer & Reinbold Mini in Indianapolis; Amanda Paladeni was our motoring advisor. She was great! Knew every last detail, and took lots of time with us to allow for us each to test drive and to show us the different options in person in several MCS on their lot. We (I should say my wife) built her model at MINUSA.com last night and will fax to her on Tuesday. Getting 2003 MCS Electric Blue/White top, Performance and Sport Combo packages (with performance wheels), Panther Black leather, and dealer installed tint. Timing should be just right. Her lease is up at end of December and Amanda said timing on orders is 9-12 weeks. Best part, no upcharge over MSRP!

Awesome color choice and specs. I saw an EB/W MCS last Friday and it looked great. Pics just don't do it justice. The only drawback is white wheels because of the brake dust, I have a hell of a time keeping my silver wheels clean.

Getting the silver wheels for that very reason. At least the brake dust will be a little less visible.

Were you able to drive the MC with AND without th Sport Suspension? I was only able to test drive the latter, as well as a MCS. If you drove both MC, was there a difference in rides? Anyone out there?

Owen,
I don't want to repeat myself, so my views on the colors are under the thread
"Chilli Red or Indi Blue" if you care?

Thanks Brownielocks, Just got your post cause I had just returned from American Idol Final. I think I'll get the Chili Red Cause I got to meet and have my picture taken with the beautiful Debra Messing from Will&Grace, and she has awsome red hair. That was a seller. whoa!

Owen,
Well the next time you meet Debra Messing, PLEASE get some of her hair tips for me! I don't think that girl knows what a "bad hair day" is?

I'm sure it's the 100k a year stylists running around hollywood, but I'll be sure to ask next time.

Yes, I went to A.I. my wife is a real fan of it and got tickets on E-bay although they were way up in the very top balcony. The guy she got the tickets from also had 4 in the 3rd row and went with his friend but couldn't sell the other 2. When they announced that they were going to fill empty seats with seat fillers, he came way up to the top and got us cause he wanted someone who at least payed for the tickets to sit in the other 2. That's how I got to brush shoulders with all the fame and glamour. Pretty cool huh. I saw 3 minis on my venture to Hollywood, and can't wait to get mine.
