So... my MCSa got towed away yesterday morning...

Somewhat cold (57) and the car kept dying after the start...

now it's at MINI of Alexander in Los Angeles...

06 with only 13000 miles and i can not possibly believe it's acting up already..
recently did the oil change myself along with new air-filter...

i'm going there today to visit. one question, is it okay to request a loaner?
i don't have a car and i have to commute to school :(

Under warranty, why not request a loaner, most dealers will, some will set you up with a rental and some just suck.

It actually got running before dying?

yeah, the engine would run but barely.
it would cough itself up and then die.

Loaner

I got my Mini CS last December 07 & before I left the dealership, I had to sign a paper stating I would not SMOKE in their loaners.

hoon --

FWIW, I experienced what sounds like the same situation with my '05 MCSa around 8,000 miles on the odometer (car just died, had to be flatbedded, etc), and the dealer (Cincinnati Mini) corrected the problem in 24 hours with a software update to the transmission. (Loaner was provided) There are a few threads on NAM which addressed this software issue a couple of years ago (sorry - I don't have a link). The software took care of my situation -- no further problems and I now have approx. 42,000 miles on my MCSa.

Good luck to you.

Hey Speed, thanks for the reply.

I actually made a thread here on how awkward my automatic transmission shifts. It's jerky and it would double, even triple down shift (to 4-5K rpm) on downhill even on every day driving.

So I wondered if they have a software update on the transmission but I just got the vehicle 2 weeks ago so I didn't really have the time to take care of it.

They said they would call me on monday, hopefully that update is the problem and fixes it.
