How many Purple Haze owners are out there?

Hi,

I've been away from the site for a while, but I've been seeing owners club things for specific colors... Just curious how many PH owners there are on the site.

gobi,

How many miles do you have on yours? I drive a lot, I have 81,500 or so. I just love mine.

I wanted a purple haze, but couldn't find a used one in my area, so I instead have an electric blue.

Hi, B.A.D. Where did you find that purple haze owners club thing in your signature? Do you know if they have stickers and such?

Electric Blue was going to be my choice for a 2004, but when my Sales Person pulled out the brochure for the 2005, which weren't supposed to be out yet... I saw the Purple and I put off buying one until the 2005 were out.

What color top do you have on your Electric Blue?

Sorry for the late post. Mine's at about 30,000 kms, I think thats like 19,000 miles? I do drive a lot but short distances and my car has spent a lot of time in the shop.

Gobi,

Is your MINI back with you yet? I saw it was in an accident. Are you ok?

Does your paint tag in your engine compartment list "purple haze" or "Black Eye Purple"?

Purple Haze is the same as Black-Eye'd Purple right? If so, I'm an owner!

Not according to any Body shop or body paint person I talk to.

Why don't we start a "Black Eye Purple" Club - A "Fight club" perhaps.

Any thoughts?

In fact, a "purple haze" car has a sticker inside the engine bay which identifies the color as "black eye purple" and not "purple haze"

I prefer "Black-Eye Purple" over "Purple Haze" for the following:

If you say to someone that you have a car painted "Purple Haze"; without them seeing it, it could be any number of shades of purple to different people. However, if you say your car is painted "Black-Eye Purple", well just about everyone has seen a black eye and that lovely purple hue around the eye...gives them an idea of the color, no? :impatient

I prefer "Black Eye Purple" also - for the reasons you mention and also the tag on my car.

Here is my best contribution to all my "Purple" friends.....

Royalty and Spirituality: Purple is royalty. A mysterious color, purple is associated with both nobility and spirituality. The opposites of hot red and cool blue combine to create this intriguing color. [/FONT]
