Just picked up my second mini yesterday PH or BEP allover Can't decide on stripes though. She has alot of chrome ... would y'all go with black or something flashier, like silver? I love the purple, but hope maybe the stripes will tone her down, just a bit. What do you think? Also, how do I add another pic to my signature now? I can only seem to have one of my babies on here?

Congrats on the new MINI! As far as what color of stripes to go with, I think it depends on what your plans are for the chrome. If you are going to black out the chrome then I think black stripes would be nice. If you are going to leave the chrome, then silver will look good (but I might be a little biased on the silver with PH look ).

keeping the chrome, in fact, i may go to my body shop and see if it's possible to have what's left of my roof (i have the sunroof) painted chrome-like, or silver ... or I may get some sort of a graphic up there. ... I think I will get silver stripes. I didn't intend to get a purple car ... I really thought she was mostly blue. But I do love her, and the denial is wearing off Thanks for your input, I just wanted to hear from someone who is familiar with the color in person

Does anyone know where to find production #s by color for Purple for 2005 and 2006?

We'd like to know the total production runs for Purple for 2005, global and US. Anyone know where these can be found?

Tx!

Jeff

For those of you with PH 2006 MINIs, was it a Cooper-only colour, or was it discontinued fairly early in the year?

I'm asking because I don't remember it being an option when we ordered our two 2006 'S' convertibles. I think my wife would have still gotten Pepper White for hers, but I probably would have gotten the PH over the Cool Blue on mine if it had been an option.

Normal MC only. She would have gotten the lightening blue but it was only available on the S. I suppose the PH could have been gotten on the S as a custom color though - just like today. It's now called Black-Eyed Purple.

When you say "today" and "now", do you mean that BEP/PH is back on the MINI palette?? I thought it was discontinued, and hadn't heard about it coming back.

(God forbid that MINI actually have very many cool/interesting/unique colours, but if you want some shade of blue or silver, they'll be happy to hook you up!)

Look at the custom paint shop. It's there.

Umm, the "Custom Paint Shop" on the MINI site is just a Flash plaything so that you can experiment with different colours and graphics. You can't transfer your Paint Shop design over to the configurator and actually *buy* the car that way.

I think if you want PH/BEP on a new MINI, you're going to have to buy it in some other colour and then take the car to a *real* "Custom Paint Shop" and have it re-painted.

PH, or BEP if you prefer, was not Cooper only.

Oh! Well, thanks for clearing that up. I certainly didn't mean to mislead anyone. It looked pretty official to me.

Regards,

Jeff

Matt - absolutely STUNNING. What kind of exposure did you use on the fog shot (f-stop, iso, shutter speed). I also love the depth of the paint in the driveway shot - you have really detailed it up nice - what products do you use?

Just bought a PH BEP S. Is it a problem getting these to color match when you repair chips and repaint the hood?

Realize this hasn't been used in a while, but here's my 2005 S Purple Haze. Love having a color that you don't see every day!

That is a fantastic color! Post up some more pics in sunlight, curious how it looks in bright light.

That's an awesome car. Our's has the silver roof (model ending option), but it's always nice to see another PH
