2006 S antenna base issue

I broke my antenna base going through a car wash. I have a 2006 mini cooper s. The dealer is asking a high price to fix it, and the part costs about $50. Does anyone know where to locate instructions on how to repair the part online?

you could just replace it with a nicer looking stubby antenna from any of the vendors!

Car wash?

tisk tisk tisk

sorry man that why I always hand wash. Yeah its 23 degrees around Philly today but the car is worth it. Plus all you just need a pair of rubber gloves because cold water is not that cold if you dont put your hand in it with gloves on. (Try it ) I bet it $50.00 + a car wash cheaper.

Lesson learned. NEVER use an automatic car wash.

BTW, Welcome to NAM!

Neither of these actually work...? I think OEM antenna bases are only around 50 bucks, no need for a fakey!

Actually how I do it is I pop the headliner down at the back of the car. The cover on the roof actually popes off and you use a 19mm wrench to take the nut off. Then the whole antenna base will come loose and you can disconnect the wires and pull it out. Then reverse for install. Sometimes you have to reglue the clips to the headliner, but no big thing. So all you'll really need is the base and a new antenna.

I found this on the other thread.. here is the link so you can go surf through it at your leisure.. this thread has some good info.. good luck!
